Biomass Plant
Biomass Gasification is a process by which solid
biomass is converted by a thermo-chemical process
into clean gaseous form in a solid Bio residue gasifi-
er. The process involves subjecting the solid biomass
to partial pyrolysis in sub-stoichiometric quantities of
oxygen, resulting in the formation of producer gas,
which is composed of 18% H@, 20% CO, 2% CH4
,
12% CO2
and rest N2
and has a mean calorific value
of 4.7 MJ/kg. The gas is then piped to a D.G. set and
the electricity generated.
Bio Diesel Plant
Bio-diesel is a domestically produced, renewable fuel
that can be manufactured from vegetable oils, animal
fats, or recycled restaurant oils. Bio-diesel is safe, biode-
gradable and reduces serious air pollutants such as par-
ticulate, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and air toxic.
Wind Energy
Wind Energy is the conversion of wind energy into more
useful forms, such as electricity, using wind turbines. At
end of 2006, worldwide capacity of wind powered gen-
erators was 73.9 gigawatts. Most modern wind power
is generated in the form of electricity by converting the
rotation of turbine into electrical current by means of an
electrical generator. Wind energy is plentiful, renewable,
widely distributed, clean and reduces toxic atmospher-
ic and greenhouse gas emissions if used to replace fos-
sil-fuel-derived electricity. The intermittency of wind sel-
dom creates problems when using wind power at low
to moderate penetration levels.
