Map the need for knowledge exchange on a national level, e.g., data sharing and joint maps, in the joint/common areas. Possibly contribute to SeaGIS2 b. Discuss good marine status and Blue Growth, in the form of common needs, interests, and possibilities, as well as existing and potential differences and conflicts. Identify the sectors that would benefit from cross-border collaboration and development in the PanBothnia area Coast to Coast c. Map the need for knowledge exchange and regional cross-border planning. What are the major issues, conflict areas? What processes can synergistically be planned? Discuss relevant LSI issues in MSP-processes d. What are the common possibilities for sustainable development? Cross-border Blue Growth e.   6. 6. www.panbalticscope.eu Progress of work… Monitoring and Evaluation • For selected national processes – Poland and Latvia • Second workshop in Latvia 27th August • Workshops focused on developing Monitoring and Evaluation of Polish and Latvian Marine Spatial Plans • Produced 1st version of template for evaluating achievement of Polish respectively Latvian MSP objectives. • Third workshop in Poland 28th September Follow-up of Common regional Framework • VASAB three terms of references for follow-up of priniciples, guidelines and roadmap. Procurement finalized. Two tenders received and evaluated, contract in progress. Lessons Learned • Nordregio 1st survey finalized and analysed.   7. 7. www.panbalticscope.eu Progress of work… 7 Ecosystembased Toolbox & Implementation of EBA in sub-basin Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) • In cooperation developed, tested and deployed questionnaire on implementation of ecosystem-based approach • Suggestion on improvement for implementation in Baltic Sea Region. • Prepared Terms of Reference for report on ecosystem-based approach in Marine Spatial Planning, to get synthesis of research, and analysis and suggestions. • Preparation of joint workshop 23-24 October , Hamburg. Cumulative impacts • 2nd meeting 11-12th September in Göteborg, Sweden • Cumulative impact assessment tool developed and made available for first evaluation within Pan Baltic Scope. Proposed two test-sites FI-AX-SE area and Latvia Riga Bay • Common session with Green Infrasctructure on 11th September. Green infrastructure • 2nd workshop for Green Infrastructure concept & Essential Fish Habitats, Göteborg, Sweden 10-11 September. • First draft outline of the Green Infrastructure concept and proposed approach for testing the Green Infrastructure mapping within the Pan Baltic Scope project Advancing the Implementation of the Ecosystem-Based Approach and Data Sharing
  8. 8. www.panbalticscope.eu Progress of work… 8 Economic and social analysis • Joint effort HELCOM and SYKE, with support from other partners literature review task, draft under revision. Data Sharing • Data model elaborated and platform maintained by HELCOM. User requirements discussed, draft data model, proposal for visualization presented. • 2 Skype meetings, June and August, between HELCOM and Latvia. • Danish Geodata Agency (DGA), DMA collected input data, which are now gathered in a MSP web portal in the Danish MSDI, prepared to be used internal and external. To support preparatory work with national MSP in Denmark • Prepared interim results for discussion on 2nd Data workshop. Advancing the Implementation of the Ecosystem-Based Approach and Data Sharing

Final draft shared with project partners for input. • LSI Case study outlines by case study partners provided by the case study teams (FI-AX-SE and Estonia-Latvia) to work package leader in form of updated Work Plans. • Procurement draft for LSI Riga bay case prepared by Latvia. • LSI Case study communication plans by case study partners, drafts under way.
