This slideshow will demonstrate my understanding of media institutions and which media institution that I feel would be most suitable for publishing my media product.
What kind of media institution (publisher) might distribute your media product and why?

institution (publisher) might
distribute your media
product and why?
2. • The Egmont Group is a media corporation founded and
rooted in Copenhagen, Denmark. The business area of
Egmont has traditionally been magazine publishing but
has over the years evolved to comprise mass media
generally.
• Egmont is a publisher that I believe would be ideal for
publishing my Pop magazine because of the fact that
they publish content that is aimed at a and teenage
market and this would help me target the teenage
audience that stereotypically consume mainstream Pop
magazines. Egmont group also publishes the ‘We Love
Pop’ magazine which has a similar target audience to
magazine that I have created as well which would make
this publisher even more ideal. The magazines
published use bright and engaging colours which
adheres to the conventions of a Pop magazine and
allows the magazine to target a young demographic.
3. • Bauer Media Group is a European-based media company,
headquartered in Hamburg, Germany that manages a
portfolio of more than 600 magazines, over 400 digital
products and 50 radio and TV stations around the world.
• Bauer Media is the publisher of the magazine “Q” which is
Pop magazine that is published every month in the United
Kingdom which has an average circulation of 48,353 . The
magazine has a sophisticated appearance but also has a
mainstream appeal and is able to target a slightly more
mature audience over the age of eighteen. I feel as
though this could be the publisher of my magazine
because of the fact the genre of magazine and
presentation of the magazine produced are somewhat
similar. The real media products and my product share the
same conventions such high key lighting and props which
encode the Pop genre therefore I think the publisher
would be the best at conforming to the conventions of
pop magazines as well as targeting a mainstream target
audience.
