Look for the items marked * A * in the Activities for your mandatory attendance
checkpoints. You must do these in order to be marked present for the day.
Homework
It is expected that you will complete all activities and homework assignments, not just
the attendance checkpoints. Sometimes you will be asked to comment on classmates
work in the forums.
3 WEEKLY GOALS
Coding: practice HTML and CSS at codeacademy.com,
this is the technical aspect of the class, getting familiar
with coding language
Concepts: lecture, hands on and response in eLearning,
this is learning best practices for creating and working
with websites
Creation: design a website on a topic of your choice,
bringing what you have learned and your ideas together
• complete by the end of our 8 week session
• Each week you will do some work towards this project
– Brainstorm , draw thumbnail sketches or a site map
– Create and collect assets (photos, text, background images, color
schemes)
– Build components of the site (pages, links, navigation)
– Due dates: Thursdays (check eLearning!)
• Use a CMS with templates OR code from scratch in Brackets
• Draft due the penultimate week of class so you can get and act on
feedback
• Final revision due on the last day of class
