Each week students should complete readings, videos, and activities marked with an asterisk for attendance. Students are expected to complete all assignments, not just the attendance checkpoints. The weekly goals are to practice coding HTML and CSS, learn concepts through lectures and hands-on activities, and create a website on a topic of choice. Students will work towards this project website each week by brainstorming, collecting assets, and building components. A draft is due in the second last week for feedback, with the final revision due on the last day of class.

with coding language
Concepts: lecture, hands on and response in eLearning,
this is learning best practices for creating and working
with websites
Creation: design a website on a topic of your choice,
bringing what you have learned and your ideas together

– Brainstorm , draw thumbnail sketches or a site map
– Create and collect assets (photos, text, background images, color
schemes)
– Build components of the site (pages, links, navigation)

• Use a CMS with templates OR code from scratch in Brackets
• Draft due the penultimate week of class so you can get and act on
feedback
• Final revision due on the last day of class
