Motion Picture Expert Group, established in 1990 to
create standards for delivering audio and video data
MPEG is a multimedia standard with specifications
for coding, compression and transmission of audio,
video and data streams.
Video: describes compression of frames.
Audio: describes compression of audio frames

MPEG-7 is called “Multimedia Content
Description Interface”
