PRIORITY OBJECTIVES
6. The initiation course in bibliography - was promoted in1968 for students of the
first year. It consisted of 6 hours (4 theoretical and 2 practical).
The course of Branch Bibliography for 2nd-3rd year students consisted
of 4 hours (2 theoretical and 2 practical).
THE USARB INFORMATION LITERACY EVOLUTION
In 2003 - The Base of Information Literacy which was implemented in education plan
was based on the curriculum recommended by Decision no.1 / 9 of 8.11.2002.
The course consisted of 30 hours (16 hours - in the first semester, 14 hours
in 2nd part for the students of the 2nd-4th year) as the part of
the course of Applied Informatics.

7. 2007 - The Course “Base of Information Literacy” was reorganized into Module 1. It is
a part of the course “Information and Communication Technologies” (ICT).
The general course which belongs to Electronic and Informatics Department, consists
of 8 modules. Our course “Base of Information Literacy” is the first module
of the general course.

8. In 2013 - USARB Scientific Library, participates in 3 international projects:
MISISQ Project (2013-2016); LNSS - (2015 -2018); MDRONO (2016 -2019).

9. THE COURSE “BASE OF INFORMATION LITERACY” CONSISTS OF 4 MODULES:
Modulul I – Information retrieval tools for studies and research;
Modulul II - LibUnivCatalog – the shared catalog of 7 university libraries from Moldova on the ExLibris
Primo platform;
Modulul III - Databases with multidisciplinary coverage and specific services to major distributors to
which the University is subscribed: EBSCO, SpringerLink, etc;
Modulul IV - Research methodologies. Methods / Systems of Bibliometrics / Scientometrics;
Management of bibliographic references. Bibliographic Reference Management Software;
Curriculum and the Course sheet of the course “Base of Information Literacy” were redacted.
Curriculum includes a complete range of modern modules of competences in Information Literacy.

10. Portfolio Modeling for course
“The Base of Information Litaracy”
(USARB Scientific Library)
The Discipline “The Base of Information Litaracy” is promoted for
students of all faculties (at the day and at a reduced frequency) in the first
year of learning.
It is introduced in all plans of learning. It consists of 30-hours (full-time
education - 10 hours of direct contact and 20 hours of individual work;
low-frequency education - 6 hours of direct contact and 24 hours of
individual work).
Responsible for the promotion of the discipline is the director of the
Scientific Library.
In accordance with the Framework for Higher Education (cycle I -
Bachelor, cycle II - Master, integrated studies, cycle III - Doctorate),
approved by ME Order nr. 1045 of 29 October 2015 and USARB Senate
Resolution of June 22, 2016, report nr. 17. “The Base of Information
Litaracy” was included in al plans of learning as a component of general
skills and competence training. It consists of 30 hours (course credit-1)
and evaluated by the admitted / rejected rating.
