Dr Brian Degger is an interdisciplinary biologist and creative based in Newcastle. Strongly collaborative and inquisitive, he has worked with cutting edge organisations(e.g. Centre for Life, Blast Theory, AVFest) to develop work from robotics to dissection. His doctorate studies were in genetically engineering bacteria to produce growth factors for the aquaculture industry. He applies the knowledge developed during his studies in finding, researching and democratising knowledge through do it yourself biology, developing workshops around biology and art, collaborating in art works that involve biological methods.
