2 of 6 teams who made the playoffs in 2018 lost their respective games
2 of last week’s top-4 teams lost their respective games
Home teams were 5-1-0
Road teams were 1-5-0

6 divisional matchups
0 games between different nations
2 game between two +.500 teams- Men of Steel @ Big Dawgs, Remis Island @ Mighty Cyclones
SETTING THE SCENE
4 of the 6 playoff seeds remain open going into the final week of the 2019 IFFL season.
1. 12-0-0 REMIS ISLAND- In terms of the playoff picture, win or lose,Canada’s top-ranked,undefeated and two-time world champions,
Remis Island, has nothing to gain or lose. They own the #1 seed throughout the playoffs. They have a first-round bye. What motivation
drives Remis Island to win this week is to achieve what very few fantasy team owners have been able to do, and that’s going
undefeated throughout a 13-game regular season. Remis Island has come this far, and it would be such a bummer if they lose their
season finale against the 4th ranked Mighty Cyclones. Everyone lauds a 13-0 team. No one remembers a 12-1 team.
2. 8-4-0 JAYMIN- With a win this week over Bleeding Blue, China’s Jaymin can solidify the #2 spot and reap the benefits of a first-
round bye. In event the Jaymin lose and the Russian Hackers take care of business against the Bowl Bound Mavericks, then the
Jaymin would slip down one spot and have to settle for the #3 seed. If the Jaymin and Russian Hacker both lose, then the Jaymin
would maintain the #2 spot.
3. 7-5-0 RUSSIAN HACKERS- The Russian Hackers can enter the post-season with either the #2 or #3 seed with a win over the Bowl
Bound Mavericks and depending what the Jaymin do. The Russian Hackers can still get in with a loss, but only if the Mighty Cyclones
lose and the Men of Steel-Big Dawgs matchup does NOTend up as a tie. If the Russian Hackers lose, the Mighty Cyclones win and the
Big Dawgs and Men of Steel tie, the Russian Hackers will be cast with five other teams into the off-season abyss.
4. 7-5-0 MIGHTY CYCLONES- Everything appears to be coming up daisies for the Mighty Cyclones. Their core-players are coming in
healthy and in the same starting lineup for the first time this season. They can solidify a playoff spot by upsetting Remis Island, a team
the Mighty Cyclones have never beaten in 4 previous tries. Even if the Mighty Cyclones lose to Remis Island, they can still clinch a
playoff seed if the Men of Steel-Big Dawgs matchup does NOT result in a tie. If it does, it’s audios, broskies.
5. 7-5-0 BIG DAWGS- Because the USA’s Big Dawgs are at such a disadvantage in past head-to-head matchups, they’ve pinned
themselves into a tight corner. They can get into the post-season if they can just beat the Men of Steel, plus if the Mighty Cyclones
choke. The Big Dawgs can also get in if their season-finale match versus the Men of Steel ends as a tie, plus a Mighty Cyclones loss.
6. 7-5-0 MEN OF STEEL- The UK’s Men of Steel predicament is pretty much cut ‘n dry. They can reach the playoffs if they euthanize
the Big Dawgs and the Mighty Cyclones experience another one of their legendary meltdowns. The Men of Steel can also get in if their
final game against the Big Dawgs ends up in a tie, along with a Mighty Cyclones loss.
7. 6-6-0 SHANGHAI WANG- China’s Shanghai Wang’s destinyis in their own hands. They win, they’re in. They can earn their second-
straightdivision title and second-consecutive playoff appearance ifthey can justdefeat the Procters this week. Shanghai Wang can still
get their card punched if they lose, but they’ll also need StormOZ to go down in flames.
8. 5-7-0 STORMOZ- For Australia’s StormOZ, they have no choice. They must beat the league’s worst team, Lonely Star, and they’ve
gotta hope that Shanghai Wang’s players all contracta severe case of beriberi disease to even stand an outside chance of squeezing
into the playoffs. They do, they’re in. If not, then it’s sayonara time, grasshopper.
For our remaining four teams who we know for certainty they will not be partaking in the great2019 Festivus Maximus,it will be 39 long,
agonizing weeks before the 2020 IFFL season kicks off. Yet, with one game left, they can trash the place on their way out. By crushing
the hopes and sugar plum dreams of some of these teams still vying for the playoffs or a higher seed, these four unfortunates can go
out with a bang! The USA’s Procters can deny Shanghai Wang of making the playoffs and earning a second-straight division title.
Mexico’s Bleeding Blue can hand the Jaymin their second-straightloss and force them to settle for a lower seed. The UK’s Bowl Bound
Mavericks can pull the switch that causes the Russian Hackers’ season to implode after they showed so much promise going into
November.Mexico’s Lonely Star, whose only win was over StormOZ, can prove that lightening truly does strike twice, and by doing so,
can tear to pieces any remaining dim hope StormOZ still has of entering the ‘second season’.
