Preliminary Findings
• WRM

                184 households

                80% involve in ecotourism

                Rich biodiversity

                Ecotourism image

                Never been involved
                 in WRP
                                       11
Preliminary Findings
• Disadvantage of shared WR

“Every use of WR affects others differently”

                                                   12
Preliminary Findings
1st : Hydropower Tide
2nd : Climate Change The rise and fall of the sea
The rise and fall of the river?

                                                         13
Preliminary Conclusion
                   14

 Optimistic Ecotourism
 WRM in the study area is not integrated
 Water governance is not well
 mainstreamed
Next Steps
                    15

 Positive and negative impacts
 How can ecotourism sector be engaged
  in WR planning?
 Community Adaptation towards flow
  pattern changes
 Mainstreaming water governance

Ecotourism Impacts on Water Resources Management Along the Mekong River

Notes de l'éditeur

  1. 1. How involve? 2. How strong is their voice in participation? 3. Ecotourism is ignored in WR planning.
  2. 2. boat, ticket, souvenir…3.mangrove forest, dolphin, fish species, wild animals…4. ecotourism is popular in Kampi but has not been invited in PLN.
  3. A big concern of the death of Dolphin. Chemical? Illegal fishing? Tourist waste?
  4. Flow pattern changes. 1st: Hydropower, 2nd: Climate Change
