1. 1 March 2009 - A national fibre –to –the premises network to connect 90% of homes, schools and work places with speeds of 100 Mgps A new PPP company with majority( 51%) government ownership and 49 % private sector ownership. New company will invest up to $43 billion over 8 years to build the NBN. The government will sell down its interest within 5 year after the network is built. Wholesale network only with ‘open access’ to all parties.
