An example of a failure in my life is failing my TOEIC exam in 2017. I
failed to study hard and was very distracted. However, after reflecting
and changing my personality. I became more focused and passed with
a high grade in 2018. From that time, I learned to plan effectively and
adapt better to challenging environments. In fact, I also passed an
IELTS test at the same time.

14. Answering Job interview questions
• Situation:Think of a situation similar to what the interviewer is asking you about that had a successful
outcome. It doesn’t necessarily have to be work related as long as it’s relevant. Remember to include
the who, what, where, when and how.
• Task: Describe the task you were responsible for in that situation. Keep it specific but concise. Make
sure to highlight any specific challenges you faced.
• Action: This is the part where you describe exactly what you did. How did you complete the task you
were assigned? Remember to focus on what you did and highlight traits (qualities) that a hiring manager
will find desirable (initiative, teamwork, leadership, dedication, etc.)
• Result: This is where you get to be introspective. Share what the outcome of the situation was and
how you specifically contributed to that outcome. What did you accomplish? What did you learn? What
were the results of your actions?
Tell me about a time you worked in a team
When I studied at Ulsan University I had to manage a major research project with four other international
and Korean students. I had to create a research design plan, organize meetings and contact each
member of staff for updates. Our multicultural group had to complete the project over the break, I
decided to created a work plan chart and online group resources. This led to my group completing the work
ahead of schedule. Also, I managed to get funding ($) for the project through local donations (you did not
others!). This is now why I was recommended as the top researcher of the year in my class.
