  • 3. Learning Outcomes • An understanding of formative assessment. • The effect of feedback and feedforward in a vocational setting. • Teaching methods in relation to formative assessment. • Theoretical understanding of the need for formative assessment in vocational education.

The changing role of the teacher • From teacher to coach. • Insight into own learning goals through feedback. • Formative education (feedback) has replaced summative education (tests and exams). • Insight into knowledge gaps through coaching en dialogue with the student: What would you do in situation x? • Colleagues in the field provide us with case studies and situations that require problem solving skills and specific knowledge from the student.

  • 21. Looking back to the future.... What's in a name? • Feedback enables students to more effectively reflect upon their actions and decisions. • Follow-through with feed forward is a powerful tool for the further development of the student.
