ICAO- International Civil Aviation Organization is a
United Nation specialized agency, created in 1944 upon the
signing of the convention on International Civil Aviation
and is still active today.
Date formed- April, 1947
Headquarters- Montreal, Canada.

Vision
Achieve the Sustainable Growth of the Global Civil Aviation
System.
Mission
To serve as the global forum of States for International civil
aviation. ICAO develops policies and Standards, undertake
compliance audits, performs studies and analyses, provide
assistance and builds aviation capacity through many other
activities and the cooperation of its Member States and
stakeholders.

Tourism
Facilitates all the border security relating matters
regarding the global civil aviation.
Enhance the global connectivity network for the Air line
industry that ensures the Economic development of Air
Transport.
8. Is PNG a member ?
The ICAO is one of the Organizations formed under the
United Nations. The membership include most of the third
world nations and Papua New Guinea is definitely one of
them since it’s a UN Member.
As of November 2011, the ICAO has a membership of 191
including Papua New Guinea.
9. Summary
The International Civil Aviation Organisation is a UN
specialised agency created in 1944 during the Convention
on International Civil Aviation in Chicago.
The overall goal of the organisation stated that no country
will be left behind. Concerning Airline safety and the global
network of Air transport and the development in the travel
industry.
