2. INTRODUCTION
❖ Every manufacturing industry may not be interested in manufacturing every single item
required for the industry.
❖ Instead, they may outsource some of the works and focus more on assembling the
particles purchased from the outsourced firms.
❖ Such operations are called sub-contracting.
❖ Though the term sub-contracting sounds simple, it is not so when it comes to reality and
involves a lot of procedures if the process is handled manually.
❖ Odoo, with a dedicated module for manufacturing, offers the complete solution for
subcontracting worries. This can be used in simple steps.

3. ❖ First of all goto Manufacturing module > Configuration > Settings.

4. ❖ Enable Subcontracting from settings and SAVE.

5. ❖ Then goto Products > Bills of materials.

6. ❖ Open BoM for the Wood panel which have BoM type set as Subcontracting.

7. ❖ Multiple Subcontractors can be added from here.

8. ❖ Add Components of the Product under Components tab.

9. ❖ Enable Resupply Subcontractor on Order for all components of the Product.

10. ❖ Then open product form.Under purchase tab add Subcontractor as the Vendor and Save.

11. ❖ Goto Purchase module and create a new purchase order for the product Wood panel
and Confirm.

12. ❖ Then goto Inventory module Delivery orders and open Waiting orders.

13. ❖ A new Delivery order is created for the Subcontractor to Deliver the Components.

14. ❖ CHECK AVAILABILITY and VALIDATE this delivery order after applying Done quantities.

15. ❖ Goto Overview > Receipts to Process.

16. ❖ Receive the manufactured Wood panel from the Subcontractor by clicking VALIDATE.

17. ❖ Goto Reporting > Inventory Valuation to view detailed operation.

18. ❖ Stock valuation.

19. ❖ Goto Reporting > Product Moves.
