Presidential Appointments
What does it mean? This is the power that grants the president to appoint or nominate powerful political positions. Like the Supreme Court and Ambassadors.
Congress is Involved They, in a joint agreement with the president, determine who is appointed with either a veto (Reject) or accept the nomination.
Removing Positions The President can also terminate political positions of anyone whom he or she feels isn’t doing their job. An exception is the Supreme Court, they are removed only by impeachment.
Where does the President get these powers from? From the Executive Order, which are rules and regulations over laws. Congress acts as a check and balance for the Presidents nomination.
Why is this important? It allows the President and Congress to remove anyone that can’t do their position well and select who they think is the most qualified or the best for the job.
