If I’m not learning every day • Confidence in yourself ….. and having a good people around you • Stand up, take responsibility, be accountable …….. lead by example • Collaborate and support your team to reach that common goal • Take the Initiative and focus on the positive and improvements So is resilience a new skill and what is it?

Building your resilience comes from you and your ability to • Accept reality • Believe in yourself and your strength of character, backed up by a core set of values • improvise and think differently You need to develop a …….. • Growth mindset – belief, learning, innovating, measuring • Be balanced: mind, body and spirit • Sense of community & shared goals: mentor, peer group, network, team
  15. 15. What is testing your resilience The world has never moved faster and the rate and pace of change is unprecedented. I DON’T HAVE TIME TO THINK!
  16. 16. …. you can’t manage the Pace of Change on your own ……. your team has to be accountable & responsible … control within a business is a necessity (albeit the boring bit !) …. having a mentor and use your support network are a must have …. never under estimate the power of external advice Accountability without distrust…. share, collaborate Accountability & measurement Failure is not an option But the path is messy and ambiguous… Communication Support Frameworks & Eliminating the stigma of failure
  17. 17. You are important • You have to manage yourself and stop yourself running in different directions and being thrown off balance • You have to keep strong – mentally and physically • Strength of community, communication and collaboration

    Concentrate on your challenges, I bet they would not be so hard to overcome now.
    What were your goals? Have you achieved them?



  • Create a team that knows it’s purpose and it will find a way to deliver
    Humans are resourceful and the agile movement has taught us we are best at figuring out complex problems on the way not in advance
    Set a challenge and we enjoy it

  • It is far easier to increase your forward momentum with outside mentors or advisors
    What is your mirror and who do you need to use to hold it up? How often are you measuring improvement?
