Profile:
I am an enthusiastic and self-motivated Artist with 3 and a half years’ experience. Throughout this
time I have developed excellent people skills and the ability to communicate efficiently, work to
targets and deadlines, focus and organise my work load and schedule. I always strive to be
flexible, efficient and friendly in my approach to work.
I qualified with a Diploma in Makeup Artistry in February 2013 at The Beauty Academy, Yorkshire.
Since then I have gained experience working in freelance makeup for bridal, model portfolios,
retail, musicians, charity fashion shows, photography, editorial, local theatres and teaching
masterclasses. Iam passionate for makeup artistry and I am continually looking for opportunities
to gain experience and extend my skills. Next month (June 2016) I am due to relocate to
Eindhoven, Holland from the UK. I would like to keep my makeup career growing and find an
opportunity for employment with Makeup Retail and Beauty within this wonderful city.

Work History:
January 2016 – Present
Working freelance for my own makeup business with weddings, special occasion freelance work.
In addition, I have temped with Retail Agency Flair for Makeup counters such as Dior, Maxfactor
and Space NK.

2. October 2014 – January 2016. Chique Makeover and Photography Studios, Wakefield &
Huddersfield studios. Makeup and Hair Stylist.
I currently work freelance for newly opened studio in Huddersfield for owners Lauren and Jane. I
met jane when working in the theatre and she invited me to work on her makeup team for her new
business last year. We provide a first class pampering experience to clients, including full
photography makeup to suit the clients’ needs, hair styling and manicures. They can range from
young teens to large families to older clients. Good people skills are required, with attention to
detail, listening to clients’ needs, and working at a fast pace in keeping with the schedule of the
studio. We are given 45 minutes for hair and makeup.
May 2015 - Ongoing. The Model Experience, Leeds.
I work freelance at the model experience for owner Matt Bates. Makeup and photography shoots
are provided for models starting out in the industry to family and groups of friends for a model day
experience. Full photography makeup is provided with hair styling.
August 2014 - Ongoing. Urban Makeovers, Leeds City.
I work freelance as the hair and makeup artist for owner Marcus, providing makeup for
photography shoots. Full hair and makeup is provided, meeting the customers’ requests. The
studio has recently launched its first makeover classes. I work alone or as part of a team of two
teaching masterclasses to groups of a maximum of 10 people. We teach techniques in colour
matching, application, day to night looks. We cater our lessons to the customers’ needs should
they wish to learn particular tricks in other makeup trends, such as, contouring and highlighting and
eyebrow shaping with makeup.
May 2014 – October 2014. Bujourzee Leeds. Photographyand Makeover Studios.
Makeup and Hair Stylist.
In this role we greeted and welcomed clients into the studio. We gave them a first class service
preparing them for photography. Being located in Leeds City Centre we applied makeup to a large
number of diverse clientele, with varying skin types/colours. Some bookings we provided MAC
master classes (demos) to customers, which meant we had to talk through makeup application
with the client, teaching them techniques, and writing up MAC face-charts for them to take home.
Facecharts provide full breakdown of cosmetics used and tips on application.

Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Fashion Event
Part of a makeup team of 10. Makeup looks on cancer survivors with minimal hair growth including
eyebrow enhancement, lashes, glamour, fashion, basicnatural makeup design and hair styling for

Dr. Who Fan film. On location shoot in West Yorkshire.
Hair and makeup styling for lead actor staring in Dr. Who film to be released next year 2016.

3. Part of the makeup team for recreating the 'Bond Girl' look for models entering a competition at
Chandelier, Leeds. Makeup Design; Glamour, evening makeup, smoked eyes and red lips. Hair
styling, curls and up dos.
June - July 2013. GuiseleyTheatre. Joseph / Walking Back to Happiness (Productions).
Makeup and Hair stylist.
Part of a makeup team of 4 I provided character makeup to actors. Makeup design for Joseph was
from minimal natural, glamour makeup to ancient Grecian makeup.
Walking Back to Happiness makeup design for female and male actors. Glamour stage makeup,
and minimal glitter designs for the children.
May 2013. Marie Curie Charity Fashion-show. Makeup Artist.
Part of the Makeup team we provided makeup for 10-15 models. Makeup Design: All the eras.
From 1920's period design, right through to current day.

1995 – 2000. Boston Spa Comprehensive School.
7 GCSE’s, including English Language, English Literature, Double Science and Graphic Design.
Additional: Advanced in MS Word, Excel, Outlook Express, MS Internet, and Windows Packages.
Interests:
Outside of Makeup And Hair styling I very much enjoy travelling and volunteer work, which led me
to visiting Guatemala in 2012 to offer my services at an animal rescue sanctuary. In my spare time
I sing backing vocals for local band Berlyn Trilogy, with occasional live performances. I also enjoy
yoga and keeping fit, vegetarian/ vegan cuisine, live music, movies and theatre.
