Workplaces present a variety of environmental conditions
that impact people and property. When those conditions
cause illness or injury to occupants, S&ME’s Certified
Industrial Hygienists (CIH) and scientists are
available to assess, document, and help
mitigate workplace exposure.

Historically, building materials containing asbestos and
lead-based paint were widely used. These materials
are not a hazard when maintained in good condition,
but in a deteriorated state they may present hazards
that increase liability and associated costs for building
owners or potential property buyers.
S&ME assists in making informed
decisions about asbestos and lead-based
paint. Our NVLAP-accredited laboratory can
analyze suspect material for the presence of
asbestos. If removal of such materials is necessary,
we can manage and monitor the work.
