Statistically, we know that constituents that receive a welcome series perform better and stay on your list longer than if they are simply added to your usual communication stream. Put them to work, educate them, and bring them closer to solidify your relationship. This is your first impression so make it count.
We run 2 fundraising campaigns in the program: one EOY fundraising and one Sustained Giving (or seasonal fundraising) campaign.
When you are planning an online fundraising campaign, always think of it as a multi-part campaign that runs over the course of about 1 month or maybe a bit more, has several messages, and builds a storyline. One off message rarely perform well unless they are based on a very breaking news sort of media event like a natural disaster or local news story. A 3-part message series has statisticaly performed well for my clients. Kick off, reminder, and a last chance message are a great strategy. I now always recommend a 4th message of thanks and follow up as well.
This is also a great example of the Go! program’s EOY campaign designs.
Go! gets you from point A to B with guidance, coaching, training and services using the premier online fundraising software.
With the team’s combined expertise you can establish a robust online fundraising and marketing strategy right from day 1 versus learning it on your own.
Order of major campaigns may change based on when you begin the program. Everything hinges on when end of year falls in your calendar.
The Raiser’s Edge just got sharper with new updates guaranteed to boost your fundraising performance. With a sleeker online marketing platform, exciting new data health tools and more, your nonprofit has the power it needs for effective fundraising!
Now let’s look at a scenario that would be a good fit for Fundraising Essentials.
This is a local children’s center that hosts one major event a year – a race. They have 4 individuals on staff that manage everything development wise from mailings, to events, to data entry in the Raiser’s Edge.
They are going into a larger campaign for their 20th anniversary as a nonprofit serving the community and have never done any segmentation before. You can see that by doing fundraising essentials, each person is put into a bucket but it isn’t quite as detailed as the previous example of Ball State University
