5. Local Hoteliers
In August, BVLA sent our questions
to local hoteliers:
1. Do you provide a Suddenlink
channel line-up in rooms?
2. Would you consider making
19 your default channel?
3. If not, can you insert CS-
provided video into your
system? What would it cost?
6. Where do we go from here?
• State franchise
provides PEG
funds to each city
that are restricted
for broadcast-
related uses.
• PEG funds can’t be
used for other
purposes.
Hotelier Responses
• Two used Suddenlink and were
open to the idea of making
Channel 19 the default channel.
• Two used satellite solutions and
didn’t consider city-provided
video segments as an option.
7. What We Can Do
• We can create content blocks
that highlight places for dining,
entertainment and well-being.
• We can schedule those blocks
for when most guests check in
or return to their rooms.
• Additional plans include
programming related to
economic development.
