• 2002 – Proposed in the Bikeway and Pedestrian
Master Plan
• 2004 – Prioritized by the Hike and BikeTask Force
and adopted by City Council as a High Priority
• 2008 – Funding included in bond referendum
approved by voters ($4.4 million)
• 2011 – Awarded contract to Halff Associates, Inc.
to conduct a preliminary design study

18. Land Dedication
In April, the SpringBrook HOA voted on a
proposition to allow the HOA Board to negotiate
with the City to dedicate 18 acres of common area
Majority of the HOA voted to approve the
dedication by a narrow margin
Some homeowners in the neighborhood
strongly oppose the land dedication
Neighborhood and HOA continue to address
issues related to the land dedication
19. Next Steps
Council may consider an item in the future to
accept the 18 acres of common area
If the Council does not want to accept the 18
acres of common area, the design can
proceed with one of the alternative routes
