Background to Procom
• In conjunction with industry leaders,
employers, providers and the joint
awarding body forum, e-skills UK ltd
launched the new IT Professional

• Framework owned by e-skills but
awarding bodies have the autonomy to
establish their own assessment models
and product surround
What has Procom to offer
• Ever increasing list of units that will give
you the ability to design multiple
solutions/templates to suite the needs of
an individual or employer
• Ability to set your own scenarios which
you can be sure will be fit for purpose

How does the assessment work?
• All units apart from the vendor tested solutions are centre
assessed and externally moderated by OCR. Centres
devise activities/scenarios that enable candidates to meet
the unit assessment criteria
• OCR will be devising example materials, however, in the
meantime, OCR has produced specific assessment
requirements within each unit (see OCR website)
• OCR recommends that subject content and associated
skills be referenced to real life situations
External moderation
• On receipt of entries, an OCR Moderator is
appointed to moderate centre assessment
decisions
• Centres have the option to post work to the OCR
Moderator, or allow access to their e - portfolio
system
• If e-portfolio used, all candidate work must be
centralised and easy to access
• If you need a visit, we can arrange
Stop press……………unlimited access to
vendor tests
• As a result of customer feedback, OCR is
presently making an amendment to Ofqual in
order to offer open and unlimited access to
optional vendor units within Systems and
Principles (Competence is already unlimited)
• A new Technical Certificate will be developed
that will conform to the e-skills requirement of
limited vendor restrictions for apprenticeships
