2. Greek Festival
The weekend of June 25-27 brings the annual Greek Festival back
to the Holy Trinity Creek Orthodox Church. Spanakopita, baklava,
dolmades, and moussaka are among the fantastic spread of Greek
food. Greek music and dancing are also on display, but most
people come for the food.
3. Craft Brew
Races
This 5k isn’t about enjoy a beer at the end for “restorative” reasons. It’s
about running or walking a 5k to experience an entire beer festival at the
end! Of course, the race is mandatory, skip the exercise and head right to
the Brew Festival. Over 20 breweries are participating and tickets will go
fast. Join the fun of Craft Brew Races at Payson Park on June 27th.
4. Yogafest
This weekend yoga event is a great way for locals and visitors to try out
various kinds of yoga. With over 30 yoga teachers and 20 studios
participating in this East End event. July 10th through 12th also brings a
vendor village with local businesses, artists, vendors, and musicians.
5. Sunset Sail
On July12th, sip your way through the Casco Bay with some fantastic
wines and good company. Sommelier Erica Archer leads an educational
discussion on wines while aboard an 88-foot schooner.
6. Open Farm
Day
Throughout the State, farms open their gates to educate the public on the
business of agriculture. Demonstrations, displays, and farm-raised
products for sale are among the options for visitors to explore. Activities
also include barn and field tours, milking, natural trails, and samples for
tasting. Find a local farm to visit on July 26th and see what the agriculture
business of Maine is all about.
7. Music &Arts
Festival
On August 1st, Lincoln Park hosts vendors, live music, and tasty food at
the annual Picnic Music & Arts Festival. Over 100 Vendors selling their
wares of clothing, jewelry, prints, bags, photography, and fine art will
be in attendance.
8. Reggae Fest
Join fellow reggae lovers on Maine State Pier in Portland August 7th for the
second annual Portland Reggae Fest. This is a family-friendly event full of
music and food, with a line up including Steel Pulse, Barrington Levy, Inner
Circle, Mighty Mystic and Gorilla Finger Dub. Tickets are available for $30
in advance.
