have changed things.
There is also the question of a

part of the Suez Canal.

To this point, FDR
had been in favor
of a Jewish state
in the Middle East.
He was taken
aback by King
Saud’s opposition
to such a plan.

Upon returning to the States,
Roosevelt did not press as
hard for a Zionist State. He
dies on 12 April 1945.
