6. The New York City Waterfall
這一項耗資美金1,500萬,由公共藝術基金會(The Public Art Fund)負責,名為紐約
瀑布(The NewYork City Waterfall)的 公共裝置藝術工程,6月26日起至10月13日,
長達將近四個月的期間,每天上午7點至晚上10點,分別在紐約市的四處地點展示
大型人工瀑布,包括布魯克 林大橋下的船舶停泊點、曼哈頓橋北邊35號碼頭、布
魯克林4號與5號碼頭之間、總督島(Governors Island),日落後並有燈光照明。依照
Car & Travel Monthly雜誌的建議,一 次看完四座人工瀑布的最佳觀光路線,就是
搭乘紐約港的觀光遊艇Circle Line Downtown。
四座大型的人工瀑布高度從90到120呎,最高的兩座大約與自由女神像從頭到腳的
高度一樣。這項展覽由丹麥藝術家Olafur Eliasson設計,是繼2005年中央公園內
大型裝置藝術品--「門」之後最大的公共藝術作品,預計將為紐約市帶來美金
5,500萬的觀光收入。
