Sustainable Development Where people grow, profits grow

ecological components )
 "Where people grow, profits grow":
 this well-tried business rule is applicable to development
policy as well.
 The driving force :
 Only quality management will ensure that development
assistance continues to enjoy the high regard it now has
in industrialized countries.

E - Governance
www.creatingdemand.org
E – Governance Fundamental change
 E-governance, enabled by IT, requires a fundamental change
in how the government operates by constantly reinventing itself
by delivering its obligations to the citizens with greater
accountability and a responsive sensitivity.
 Sweeping transformations have taken place in IT with the
convergence of computing and communication technologies.
The advent of the Internet has thrown open numerous
possibilities.
 Public information requirements can be met through a
system of ‘one-stop service providers’ over electronic networks.
Ration card applications, industrial unit clearances, tax returns
filing, public utility bookings, billing and even payments can take
place on-line under such a model of governance.

“Grab The next Revolution”
www.creatingdemand.org
Grab The next Revolution Future
The primary reason for delayed decisions in government
is age old procedures
Many files begin with the Junior Assistant and traverse
all the way up to cabinet ministers, passing through 9 to
12 layers.
Normal time taken in decisions are 36 working days ,
bad case scenarios 72 working days , worse case
scenarios 108 working days.
E-governance projects in Govt. are hardware purchasing
program, , and they gather dust on the desk of senior
officials.

“Grab The next Revolution”
www.creatingdemand.org
Software and hardware account for only one tenth of
true corporate investment in IT.
India can play a vital role in the knowledge based global
economy.
one fact stands unmistakably : reforms have been
implemented without making any attempt to change the
system
Good Governance means :
achieving goals
delivering results
craft the right economic policies
capacity to implement those policies
achieve the stated goals.

new strategic alliance with companies from third world or
setup manufacturing facilities ourselves in other parts of

What thinkers have expressed
www.creatingdemand.org
What thinkers have expressed Learn
“We have reached the point where Liberty depends upon
revolutionary reforms, it is the ultimate foundation of our
life that we have to change. The more we insist that it is
not our concern, the easier we make the oppositions
task” by Harol J. Laski
“Power Corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Hence, it shall be the will not Power which shall rule the
state, with good governance as its conduct.” by George
H. Sabine
“The officials who do not eat the state wealth but
increase in a just manner and are loyally directed shall
be the one in permanent service” says Kautilya (Chanakya)
Kautilya specifies bad governance as: Obstruction, using
Govt. Property for personal profit, falsification of the
date, causing loss to the govt., misuse of Govt. property,
Misappropriation, favour shown for a bribe, public
exploitation
