• Extended construction hours will continue through 2020.
• Periodic lane closures may be required to facilitate deliveries, dewatering and concrete
works.
• Permanent works are underway at the station box and entrances, and will continue into
early 2021, including waterproofing, formwork, rebar installation and concrete works
• Construction of the entrances will progress upwards from the station to street level.
• Architectural works, including tile installations, masonry work, and glazing, is expected to
begin at the Main Entrance in approximately one (1) month.

• As early as September 14, 2020, construction activities at the both entrance shafts and tunnels will take place between the hours of 6:00
a.m. and 1:00 a.m., Monday to Saturday, through to the end of the year.
• Work may occasionally take place on Sundays as required.
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Occasional overnight noise from construction equipment including trucks, machinery and crews may occur at the Main and Secondary
entrances for concrete works.
• Work within the tunnels is not expected to impact nearby residents as these activities will take place below grade.
• Site lighting is required and will be positioned away from residential properties.
• Crews will endeavor to schedule noisier activities during the day where possible.
• Site-based mitigation measures will be implemented.

• The pedestrian sidewalk will remain on the south
side of Eglington Avenue East only.
• The traffic configuration will accommodate road
works on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East
west of Brencliffe Road and in the centre of Eglinton
Avenue, east of Brentcliffe Road.
• Construction activities include:
• Concrete removals
• Construction of new sidewalk and curbs
• Installation of new pavers
• Installation of new traffic lighting elements
• Asphalt and final paving
16. RETAINING WALL CONSTRUCTION
NORTH SIDE OF EGLINTON
EAST OF BRENTCLIFFE ROAD

• This retaining wall is required to hold and stabilize the
embankment created from the newly widened road.
• Construction commenced early August 2020.
• Due to an unplanned movement of earth at the retaining
wall construction site, construction has been paused.
• CTS has followed all recommendations from the design
and engineering teams to stabilize the area.
• The area has been backfilled to further stabilize the
embankment and tarped to prevent soil erosion.
• Plans are being reviewed for the continued construction of
the retaining wall.
• Final landscaping and restoration plans are in review with
Metrolinx and the City of Toronto.
17. DUCT BANK INSTALLATION
WEST DON RIVER BRIDGE

• Crews will be installing duct banks under the
bridge using a manlift and an excavator to lift
the materials into place.
• An alternating lane closure under the West
Don River Bridge will be in place to facilitate
bridge works.
• Access to the E.T Seaton Park parking lot,
south of Eglinton Avenue East will be
maintained
• There will be no changes to the current traffic
configuration on Eglinton Avenue East.

• Construction activities for path construction include: Excavation, backfill and installation of topsoil
• Landscaping will take place in 2021 as part of the final restoration plan.

• Crews will be installing structural steel to form the new pedestrian staircase. A crane will be installed at the work zone
to lift materials into place.
• To accommodate these activities, a section of the E.T Seton Park north parking lot will be closed. Access for
pedestrian, cyclists and vehicles will be maintained.
• No changes to traffic on Eglinton Avenue East.
October 30, 2020 for four weeks
20. CP BRIDGE REHABILITATION

• A working platform will be set up at the
bridge in advance of the activities.
• Crews will be removing rust, painting,
replacing structural steel elements and
performing concrete repairs.
• Noise can be expected from concrete
chipping and other rehabilitation works.
August 24, 2020 for 13 weeks
