1. Creating a Three-Fold
Flyer
Using Publisher you need to put together a threefold flyer advertising your company
for distribution in Ilkley.
Your flyer must have the following elements:
1. A title page with company name, logo, and slogan.
2. Before and after photographs demonstrating your skills.
3. A map showing your location
4. Opening hours, address, email and web address.
5. A paragraph of text explaining your services.
Before you use Publisher, you must first create a hand-drawn design
showing what the flyer will look like.
Tasks
1. Take a plain piece of A4 paper and fold it into three.
Sketch on this piece of paper to show where you want each element to go.
You should also add other relevant details such as colours and font type and
size.
2. Use Publisher to create your flyer.

3. Ask a buddy to review your work. They should say two or three things they
really like about it and one or two things that would make it even better.

2. 4. Carry out any improvements that you think are appropriate and ask someone
else to review your work.
How to set up a three-fold brochure in
Publisher
1. Open a new publication in Publisher and click on the cross to close the design window.
2. Select File - Page Setup and choose Landscape.
3. Select Arrange - Layout Guides and set all four margin guides to 0.25 cm. Then click
on the tab labelled Grid Guides.

3. Set the columns to 3 and check the box to Add centre guide between columns and
rows .
5. Finally, select Insert - Page and add one more page.
