Technology is ever changing, always advancing, and
expanding and is already merging with libraries.
The following slides show a few of the new technologies
being developed that will affect libraries.

4. THE INTELLIGENT LIBRARY
BOOKMARK
“Doubling as a standard book marker,
the device also incorporates a
navigational system giving turn by turn
directions through the library. To assist
the user in remembering loan
durations, the bookmark also keeps
track of the borrowed books and
reminds the user of the return dates”

5. FINGERLINK –Turns Print into
Touch Screens
"We think paper and many other
objects could be manipulated by
touching them, as with a
touchscreen. This system doesn't use
any special hardware; it consists of
just a device like an ordinary
webcam, plus a commercial
projector. Its capabilities are achieved
by image processing technology”
