INDIAN ETHOS AND ETHICS
• What is Ethics ? Ethics or moral philosophy is a
branch of philosophy that involves systematizing
and recommending concepts of right or wrong
conduct. Thus ethics containing moral principles
affect how people make decisions to lead their
lives Ethics is provided by external sources
(principles in religions ) like Bhagavad-Gita, Bible,
and Quran and many more religious books.
examples: honesty, morality, responsibility,
humanity . Ethics is, what is good for the
individual should be good for the society.

What is Ethos ?
• Ethos are the moral ideas and attitude that
belong to a particular group or society. They
describe moral standard of the society. Ethos
is the body of knowledge which is derived
from universalized Ethics.
