6. Currently for media I’m helping River with a video for English.
Last year she made a video called “Flaws” and I fell in love with it.
This year, she decided to make a (sort of) “Flaws Two” except for
it’s quite different that “Flaws.”
As juniors, we’re so close to college! This video is about what’s
going on in our lives, how we feel about college, what we’re
doing to prepare, etc.
It’s really interesting to interview everyone and see their
different reactions, how each individual feels about college, and
that whole experience.

8. To make friends, I Also, I really hate
generally try to be when “friends” start
myself. I hate it when rumors and tell lies
people think they and just end up
have to try and be Friends ruining their
someone different for friendships. So I try
people to like and to stay out of drama
accept them. and keep the peace.

16. (my top project of the year)
“Skydiving” “Skydiving” is a
non-commercial
song from
Jamendo.
I was only
allowed to listen
to this song
ONE TIME before
I had to be
filmed rapping it.
This video would
have been horrible
if the editing hadn’t
saved it.
It took two days to
film, and two
months to edit.
We learned an
incredible amount
from making this
video.
This video is
amazing.

22. My Media growth this year is beyond exponential. This has been my first
year at Minarets, so I started off my media career
the same as a little baby coming into the world. I
could not fend for myself in this video-eat-video
world; luckily I had the sheltered arms of
the Minarets Media Department to keep me safe.
What specific skills have I learned this year? My
goodness, there are too many to name:
how to properly hold a camera, how to hold a video camera, using a
shoulder cam, what lighting is good and what isn’t, TWO-THIRDS RULE,
depth, lines, all of the different camera angles, all of the different steps to
properly plan for a video, overcoming dilemmas of all sorts when something
goes wrong, taking what I’ve learned and making videos for academic
classes as well, thousands of different editing tricks, Final Cut Express,
using reflectors when filming outside, fixing audio complications, but most
of all, making awesome videos.

25. I really want to get more into photography. I love filming and getting to take part in
awesome videos, but there’s just something so relaxing about picking up your
camera and going out into the world in attempt to capture the beauty.
My favorite videos to
make are music
videos. I am easily
inspired by music; I
can listen to a song
and have a hundred
different ideas fly
around in my head. I
definitely plan on
making many more
sweet music videos.
The next project I want to work on is called the “365 Day Project.” I take at least
one picture every single day, pick out the best ones and put them all together.
There are so many great benefits of doing this; taking a photo a day will make me a
better photographers. Using my camera everyday will help me learn my camera’s
limits. I’ll become better at composing my shots and hopefully I’ll become more
creative with my shots.
