Artificial intelligence

  1. 1. Presented By: Danish Javed
  2. 2. Artificial Intelligence is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines.
  3. 3. Artificial Intelligence Intelligence: “the capacity to learn and solve problems” Artificial Intelligence: Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines and robots and the branch of computer science that aims to create it, •the ability to solve problems •the ability to act rationally •the ability to act like humans
  4. 4. •Artificial intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans. •The field of AI. research was founded at a workshop held during the summer of 1956. John McCarthy (computer scientist) invented the term Artificial Intelligence in 1955. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
  5. 5.  1950 - Alan Mathison Turing Proposes The Turing Test (Machine Intelligence)  1986 - Rise of Machine Learning  1995 - AI as Science  2006 - Face Recognition System  2003-2007 - Robot driving  2011 - Apple's Siri, Google's Google Now and Microsoft's Cortana Use Natural Language
  6. 6.  Weak AI: It is designed to perform specific tasks, like;  remote control devices,  Computer games(we play against computer)  Online customer service, etc.  Strong AI: The machine can actually think and perform tasks on its own just like a human being. They can act, walk, respond like humans  Robots etc.
  7. 7.  Computer Science  Education  Heavy Industries  Health & Medicine  Telecommunication  Transportation  Toys and Games  Robotics  Military  Domestic
  8. 8. Two main goals of AI: To understand human intelligence better. They test theories of human intelligence by writing programs which emulates it. To create useful “SMART” programs able to do tasks that would normally require a human expert.
  9. 9.  Mental alertness  Heavy construction  Military benefits  Dangerous places  Work 24/7  Multi tasking  Personal assistance  Save large data
  10. 10.  No common sense  High cost  Raise legal issues  Unemployment  Harmful  May go against humans  No feelings  Can’t handle emergency
  11. 11. It’s a composition of abilities like;  Learning  Reasoning  Understanding  Feeling
  12. 12. Artificial vs. Human Intelligence ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE No common sense. No feelings. Save large amount of data. Fast response. Capture and preserve human expertise. Work 24/7. HUMAN IMTELLIGENCE Common sense, Creativity, Judgment. Feelings. Save less data compare to AI. Reasoning and critical thinking. Need rest.
  13. 13. THANK YOU
