ACCESS INTELLIGENCE
MEDIA ASSOCIATE
PROGRAM
Updated 2016
WHAT IS THE
MEDIA ASSOCIATE PROGRAM?
Access Intelligence’s Media Associate program offers recent graduates the
opportunity to gain experience in several essential business functions,
including Sales, Marketing, Editorial, Digital Analytics, and Event
Management, over the course of one year. You’ll be challenged daily with
meaningful work under the guidance of our talented Managers, Directors,
and VPs, and will be responsible for meeting deadlines, producing results,
and contributing to the innovative content that sets Access Intelligence apart
from our competitors.
The Associate program is located in our Rockville, Maryland headquarters,
with rotations available in Norwalk, Connecticut.

“
WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER
A ROTATION PROGRAM?
The goal of our program is to provide you with a well-rounded
understanding of business functions and help you make a more informed
decision about your career path. You’ll have the opportunity to try out
several roles, as well as several industries, and discover your own strengths
and weaknesses. Rotations change each year based on business needs and
the interests of our Associates, but always provide interesting, valuable
learning experiences.
I wanted an opportunity to explore my options while also gaining valuable
experience. AI exposed me to career paths I never would’ve known I was
interested in had I not had this opportunity.”
REBECCA LINCKS, 2012-2013 ASSOCIATE; MARKETING MANAGER

WHAT WILL MY ROTATIONS BE?
Updated 2016
We make every effort to send
Associates to relevant professional
development and industry events to get
a better understanding of the media
industry. In addition, our Associates
typically work at 1 – 2 of AI’s events,
getting a sense for how these brands
and events run.
Past Associates have attended The FOLIO:
Show in New York City, as well as the
Business Information and Media Summit in
Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
WHAT ARE SOME OTHER BENEFITS OF
THE ASSOCIATE PROGRAM?

WHAT’S IT LIKE TO WORK FOR
ACCESS INTELLIGENCE?
AI has a comfortable, casual
culture that allows employees to
be themselves and enjoy where
they work. Our schedules are
flexible, and our senior
executives always have their
doors open. AI holds a
community service drive each
quarter to give back, promotes
wellness throughout the year
with events, holds an annual
costume contest each
Halloween, and hosts a summer
picnic and a holiday lunch for
our employees.

leadership, communication, and critical
thinking skills. As the program nears
completion, you’ll sit down with our
team to discuss your interests and
strengths with the goal of finding you a

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE
PROGRAM ENDS?

Stacy Hill (far right), 2012 Associate, representing the Digital
Analytics team on a panel at Opticon 2015 in San Francisco
We’ve hired almost all of
our past Associates into
exceptional roles upon
completion of their
rotations. After just one
year, Associates are hired
into roles that generally
require 3+ years of
experience, such as
Marketing Manager,
Analytics Coordinator,
Account Executive, and
Assistant Managing
Editor.

DO I HAVE THE RIGHT BACKGROUND
FOR THIS PROGRAM?
I found my experience from my previous internships and my Public Communication
degree to be invaluable in my rotations. Whether I was working online with a content
management system to create and edit copy, or reviewing social media outreach to craft
‘best practices’ reports, knowing my way around digital spaces was key.”
STACY HILL, 2012-2013 ASSOCIATE; ANALYTICS & OPTIMIZATION MANAGER
In addition to undergraduate work in Communications, Journalism,
Business, or a related function, we’re looking for candidates who have
been active throughout their college career. We want to see work
experience, involvement in school activities, an exceptional grasp of
written and verbal communication, and a history of demonstrated
success. Above all, we’re seeking individuals who are curious and
dedicated to advancing their career within the media industry.
