Objective
I’m seeking a position where I can leverage my strengths in engineering management, evangelism,
and developer education and support, particularly in the area of graphics and gaming. I can also get
hands on with code. I’m open to relocation on the west coast.
Professional Experience
Principal Engineer/Manager, Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, CA June 2008 – Present
 GPU Use Case Architect (4/15 – Present): As part of the GPU architecture team, investigated forward-
looking technologies and use cases as well as exposing new hardware features in Vulkan, OpenGL ES,
and OpenCL
 Developer Engagement Lead (11/14 – 4/15): Planned training materials and events and led support
efforts for developers making games and other graphics-intensive applications
 GPU Tools Lead (6/08 – 11/14): Built a team up from 2 to 14 engineers creating highly successful
developer tools (Snapdragon Profiler, Adreno Profiler, Adreno SDK, etc.). Worked closely with customers
and multiple internal groups to ensure that the roadmap met requirements. Led education efforts for
the use of the tools, including on-site customer training and presentations at the Game Developers
Conference and other conferences.
Staff Engineer, AMD/ATI, Santa Clara, CA March 2006 – June 2008
 Developed OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenVG SDK and samples for early mobile 3D hardware
 Provided expert engineering support to customers during commercialization
Staff Engineer, Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, CA February 2003 – March 2006
 Developed demos and benchmarks using C/C++ and OpenGL to showcase and exercise Qualcomm’s
first generation GPU
 Developed and optimized softwareand DSP-based commercial implementation of OpenGL ES 1.0 using
C and assembly
Tools Programmer, Avalanche Software, Salt Lake City, UT August 2001 – November 2002
 Developed a variety of plug-ins in C++ for Maya and 3D Studio Max as well as standalone Windows
applications for use in the creation and management of art assets
