INTRODUCTION
INFORMATION
Each Year..
• The USA discards 30 million computers.
• 100 million mobile phones are disposed in Europe.
RECYCLING
Recycling is the process of basically turning used materials (e-waste) into new products which
is very environmental friendly. Recyclable materials include many kinds of
glass, paper, metal, plastic, textiles, and electronics.
It, in a way, also saves energy and money.
RECYCLING-ACCEPTABLE
ITEMS
Not all the electronics can be recycled, some could give out health hazards and reactions
unknown.
Here’s a short list of acceptable items:
Batteries (Rechargeable, Single use)
-Cellphones ,PDAs ,Pagers
-Computers and related (Monitor, software disks, CPU)
-Printers/ Scanners/ Fax Machines
-Televisions
-VCRs, DVDs
PROBLEMS
-Approximately 50 million tons of E-Waste produced every year, and only 15-20% of the
50 million tons could be recycled before more E-Waste are produced.
SOLUTIONS
-Sponsor/Donate/Support
-Recycle
-Government Regulation
  -Fewer toxic materials and pollution
  -Minimum life span.
  -Ease of recycling
  -Information Requirements
  -Take-back, refund
  -Compulsory
CHARTS
This is a graph of a survey with only one simple question, the question was “Reason for
recycling”.

CHARTS
This survey has recycling preferences. The question was “How do you prefer to recycle your
e-waste?”

How do you prefer to recycle your E-Waste?
Collection Events. Take it to a recycling centre.
Take to local charity for reuse. Take to a computer retailer.
                Ship back to manufacturer.
