3. Organic farming and Waste management
4.Water Conservation.
* This tree was firstly introduced to Florida in 1911 by united states department
of agriculture and is commonly grown in tropical and sub tropical regions
world wild fruits of these trees are eaten by various birds and mammals.
* Its native to Indian sub-continent adjoining regions of southeast
asia,Myanmar,srilanka,etc.
* It can reach up to height of 30 meters and can live more than 100 years.
Scientific name : Syzygium cumini
Common name : Java plum, jambul, jamun, black berry.
USES AND COMPOSITION :-
 Jamun fruit possesses considerable nutritive value. Apart from minerals,
sugars, and proteins, it is a good source of iron also.
 The tasty and pleasantly flavored fruit is mostly used for dessert purposes.
 The fruit is usually eaten with salt.
 The jaunt fruit has sub-acid spicy flavor. Apart from acting fresh, it can be
used for making delicious beverages, jellies, jam, squash wine, vinegar and
pickles.
 A little quantity of fruit syrup is very useful for curing diarrhea.
 A mixture of jamun juice and mango juice in equal quantity is very useful for
quenching thirst diabetic patient.
PROPAGATION :-
 The j is propagated both by seed vegetative methods.
 Due to existence of polyembryony, it comes true to parent through seed
 Through vegetative methods followed in most cases have attained some
success, seed propagation is still preferred.
 However, seed propagation is not advisable as it results in late bearing.
 Propagation of jar nun is economical and convenient.
 Budding is practiced on one year old seeding stocks, having 10 to 14mm
thickness.
Conclusion : the objectives of this plantation program was to create
awareness among the society to plant more trees keeping in mind the
sustained development goals and personally I will take the care of the
plant for up to my engineering completion.
Activity 02 – Seeds Collection
Seed is a fundamental requirement to grow most crops . In a broad sense , is
that part of a plant which is used for propagation , planting or regeneration
purpose . Vegetables seeds are costly and their wastage during sowing or
handling increases the cost of cultivation . Healthy and good quality seeds
leads to healthy crops . Hence , the selection of seeds is crucial . Only quality
seeds that are sown , according to the instruction set by the National Food
Corporation , can give a desirable crop yield.
In our daily life we are using many seeds indirectly but the vegetable and
fruits and we are throwing the seeds instead of collecting.
Its our responsibility to cultivation of trees because indirectly we are
reason for lost of many trees.
In another way we help to cultivation is collecting the species seeds in
large numbers and given it to the forest department
We are individually doing the second activity as a seed collection of seeds
. Under this activity we are collecting 20-30 seeds of different trees
individually.
It is one of the best activity and also a good habit because from year to year
or day by day many species trees no will be decreased because of human
activity and other issues.
From this activity we are collecting the seeds of parijathas trees , ramphal
tree , lakshmanphal tree , badami tree , nellie of the hill tree and many
other trees seeds.
Conclusion :
In another hand, we are helping to cultivation of collected species of seeds in
large numbers and submit to the forest department to plant more number of
trees in our surrounding . This small habit of collecting seeds can bring lots
of changes in society.
Activity 03 – Organic farming
Organic farming
Organic farming is a agricultural system that uses ecologically based biological
based biological fertilizers post control and waste management.
Sir Albert Howard introduced organic faming in India. This type of farming is
done without using the any chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
• It is a nature friendly process by using organic fertilizers is helpful for soil
health and ecofriendly/farmer friendly insects like earthworm etc. and it
helps to increase the nitrogen fixation in soil.
Uses of Organic farming –
• It helps to give high yield in drought condition also.
• It increase the moisture retention capacity of the soil.
• By using those manures we can control the soil and water pollution .
• We can control soil erosion.
• Helps to increase and conservation of soil fertility .
• It is basically harmless to any leaving .
Preparation of Organic manure in Organic farming
• By using the waste things which are easily available in our house and farming
land.
Like cow dung , sand , soils , vegetable , fruits peals , flour , waste of catlles &
ripened fruits we have to put them together some days and than use as
manure.
• For pesticides we have made neem leafy juices or buttermilk and spray it on
which area eaten by pest or in disease.
• It helps to reuse the waste from farming & household waste.
• Cost for organic manure is less than compare to the chemical manures.
Needs of organic farming :
• Agriculture as most important sector.
• Economic and social development.
• Extensive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
• Pollution and deterioration of the environmental .
• Loss of soil fertilizers.
• Decreased quality of food .
• Hazards effects on health.
Conclusion -
Since Organic forming keep away with the almost all scientific inputs like
chemical fertilizers , pesticides and insecticides and soil building cross
rotations are mandated in shows a superior environmental performance per
unit area than congenital agriculture.
Sources of waste can be broadly classified into four types :
1. Industrial waste
2. Commercial waste
3. Domestic waste
4. Agricultural waste
EFFECTS OF WASTE :-
1.Environmental effects :
* Surface water contamination
•Ground water contamination
* soil contamination
*Air contamination
2.Economic effects :
*Municipal wellbeing
*Recycling revenue
STEPS CARRIED IN WASTE MANAGEMENT :-
1.LAND FILL :
* it is the most traditional method disposal.
*Waste is directly into dumped quarries, mining voids or borrow pits.
*Gases generated by the decomposing waste materials are burnt to generate
power.
*It is generally used for domestic waste.
2. INCINERATION :
* Incineration is a waste treatment process that involves the combustion of
solid waste at 1000c
* Waste treatment are converted into ash, flue gas, and heat
* The ash is mostly formed by the inorganic constitution of the waste and to
organic waste
• the heat generated by inclination is used to generate electric power.
3. COMPACTION :
* The waste is compacted or compressed. It also breaks up large or fragile
items of waste.
* This process is conspicuous in the feed at the back end of many garbage
collection vehicles. Deposited refuse at bottom of slope for best
compaction and control of blowing litter.
Advantages of waste management
• Keeps the environment clean and fresh.
• Reduces the environment pollution.
• Creates the employment.
• Waste management will help you earn money.
• This practice is highly lucrative.
CONCLUSION :-
it is found that with increase in global population and the rising demand
for food and other essential, there as been a rise in the amount of waste
being generated by daily by each household. Waste that is not properly
manage especially excreta and other liquid and solid waste from
households and community, are a serious health hazard and lead to the
spread of infection diseases
Activity 04 – Water Conservation
Water conservation includes all the policies, strategies and activities
to sustainability manage the natural resources of fresh water , to protect
the hydrosphere, and to meet the current and future human demand (thus
avoiding water scarcity). Population, household size and growth and affluence
all affect how much water is used. Factors such as climate change have
increased pressures on natural water resources especially in manufacturing and
agricultural irrigation
Uses of Water Conservation-
• It minimizes the effects of drought and water shortages.
• It guards against rising costs and political conflict.
• It helps to preserve our environment.
• It makes water available for recreational purposes.
• It builds safe and beautiful communities
Methods we adopt to Water Conservation -
• Installing flow-restricting shower heads to save water during showers
• Taking bucket-baths instead of showers.
• Turning off the tap while shaving or brushing teeth.
• Immediately fixing any leaking taps and pipes in our homes.
• Practicing rainwater harvesting to reduce the wastage of rain water.
Propagation-
Water conservation requires forethought and effort, but every
little bit helps. Don't think that what you do does not matter. We
can all make changes in our lifestyles to reduce our water usage.
The trick is making water conservation a way of life—not just
something we think about once in a while.
Conclusion :
Conservation of water in the modern world is very essential.
The population is increasing rapidly and in order to meet the
requirements the future must be secured by saving water today.
Exploiting the available water will result in water scarcity in the
future and human beings will eventually die.

Hence , the selection of seeds is crucial . Only quality seeds that are sown , according to the instruction set by the National Food Corporation , can give a desirable crop yield.
  • 7. In our daily life we are using many seeds indirectly but the vegetable and fruits and we are throwing the seeds instead of collecting. Its our responsibility to cultivation of trees because indirectly we are reason for lost of many trees. In another way we help to cultivation is collecting the species seeds in large numbers and given it to the forest department We are individually doing the second activity as a seed collection of seeds . Under this activity we are collecting 20-30 seeds of different trees individually. It is one of the best activity and also a good habit because from year to year or day by day many species trees no will be decreased because of human activity and other issues. From this activity we are collecting the seeds of parijathas trees , ramphal tree , lakshmanphal tree , badami tree , nellie of the hill tree and many other trees seeds.
  • 8. Conclusion : In another hand, we are helping to cultivation of collected species of seeds in large numbers and submit to the forest department to plant more number of trees in our surrounding . This small habit of collecting seeds can bring lots of changes in society.
  • 9. Activity 03 – Organic farming Organic farming Organic farming is a agricultural system that uses ecologically based biological based biological fertilizers post control and waste management. Sir Albert Howard introduced organic faming in India. This type of farming is done without using the any chemical fertilizers and pesticides. • It is a nature friendly process by using organic fertilizers is helpful for soil health and ecofriendly/farmer friendly insects like earthworm etc. and it helps to increase the nitrogen fixation in soil.
  • 10. Uses of Organic farming – • It helps to give high yield in drought condition also. • It increase the moisture retention capacity of the soil. • By using those manures we can control the soil and water pollution . • We can control soil erosion. • Helps to increase and conservation of soil fertility . • It is basically harmless to any leaving . Preparation of Organic manure in Organic farming • By using the waste things which are easily available in our house and farming land. Like cow dung , sand , soils , vegetable , fruits peals , flour , waste of catlles & ripened fruits we have to put them together some days and than use as manure. • For pesticides we have made neem leafy juices or buttermilk and spray it on which area eaten by pest or in disease.
  • 11. • It helps to reuse the waste from farming & household waste. • Cost for organic manure is less than compare to the chemical manures. Needs of organic farming : • Agriculture as most important sector. • Economic and social development. • Extensive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. • Pollution and deterioration of the environmental . • Loss of soil fertilizers. • Decreased quality of food . • Hazards effects on health. Conclusion - Since Organic forming keep away with the almost all scientific inputs like chemical fertilizers , pesticides and insecticides and soil building cross rotations are mandated in shows a superior environmental performance per unit area than congenital agriculture.

  • 13. Sources of waste can be broadly classified into four types : 1. Industrial waste 2. Commercial waste 3. Domestic waste 4. Agricultural waste EFFECTS OF WASTE :- 1.Environmental effects : * Surface water contamination •Ground water contamination * soil contamination *Air contamination 2.Economic effects : *Municipal wellbeing *Recycling revenue
  • 14. STEPS CARRIED IN WASTE MANAGEMENT :- 1.LAND FILL : * it is the most traditional method disposal. *Waste is directly into dumped quarries, mining voids or borrow pits. *Gases generated by the decomposing waste materials are burnt to generate power. *It is generally used for domestic waste.
  • 15. 2. INCINERATION : * Incineration is a waste treatment process that involves the combustion of solid waste at 1000c * Waste treatment are converted into ash, flue gas, and heat * The ash is mostly formed by the inorganic constitution of the waste and to organic waste • the heat generated by inclination is used to generate electric power.
  • 16. 3. COMPACTION : * The waste is compacted or compressed. It also breaks up large or fragile items of waste. * This process is conspicuous in the feed at the back end of many garbage collection vehicles. Deposited refuse at bottom of slope for best compaction and control of blowing litter.
  • 17. Advantages of waste management • Keeps the environment clean and fresh. • Reduces the environment pollution. • Creates the employment. • Waste management will help you earn money. • This practice is highly lucrative.
  • 18. CONCLUSION :- it is found that with increase in global population and the rising demand for food and other essential, there as been a rise in the amount of waste being generated by daily by each household. Waste that is not properly manage especially excreta and other liquid and solid waste from households and community, are a serious health hazard and lead to the spread of infection diseases
  • 19. Activity 04 – Water Conservation Water conservation includes all the policies, strategies and activities to sustainability manage the natural resources of fresh water , to protect the hydrosphere, and to meet the current and future human demand (thus avoiding water scarcity). Population, household size and growth and affluence all affect how much water is used. Factors such as climate change have increased pressures on natural water resources especially in manufacturing and agricultural irrigation
  • 20. Uses of Water Conservation- • It minimizes the effects of drought and water shortages. • It guards against rising costs and political conflict. • It helps to preserve our environment. • It makes water available for recreational purposes. • It builds safe and beautiful communities Methods we adopt to Water Conservation - • Installing flow-restricting shower heads to save water during showers • Taking bucket-baths instead of showers. • Turning off the tap while shaving or brushing teeth. • Immediately fixing any leaking taps and pipes in our homes. • Practicing rainwater harvesting to reduce the wastage of rain water.
  • 21. Propagation- Water conservation requires forethought and effort, but every little bit helps. Don't think that what you do does not matter. We can all make changes in our lifestyles to reduce our water usage. The trick is making water conservation a way of life—not just something we think about once in a while. Conclusion : Conservation of water in the modern world is very essential. The population is increasing rapidly and in order to meet the requirements the future must be secured by saving water today. Exploiting the available water will result in water scarcity in the future and human beings will eventually die.
