Who does this help? Why is it useful? Competitive Positioning
All departments of an organization that
uses MS Teams for collaboration such as
Sales, Customer Support team.
RPA Developers and COEs that require
automations while sending notifications
to respective MS Teams channels and to
users directly
Semi-technical users that are unfamiliar
with the MS Teams API / objects and
would need more help when using the
basic CRUD activities
Sending direct message, channel message,
creating channels are some of the most
common actions in MS Teams. Customers
can now reduce manual effort and quickly
send notifications as new information flows
in, regardless of the source.
Currently the only way to automate MS
Teams is via UI or Studio Desktop. The
activities lets a user perform these same
steps without having to rely on the UI or
installing Studio Desktop.
Now, the RPA developer or Business
user can manage channels, messages,
users/members without referencing MS
Teams developer documents.
MS Teams has its own capabilities
for creating and managing
channels, users/members and
sending messages from external
events via webhooks.
We needed to improve the ease-of-
use for the MS Teams connector to
show customers the value of using
curated activities to automate the
process rather than using a
developer with domain knowledge in
MS Teams and/or the triggering
system.

Microsoft Teams V5.0.7 – GA Release Date: 16 Oct 2023
Below curated activities are new:
1. List All Channel Messages
2. List All Chat Messages
3. Get Team by Name
4. Get Channel by Name
5. Get User by Email
6. Invite User to Team
7. List All Team Members
Below 2 curated activities are enhanced:
1. Send One-One Message -> Send Individual Chat Message
2. Send Chat Message -> Send Group Chat Message
3. Send Channel Message (Channel autocomplete)

Key Use Cases
1. Sending MS Teams message to the Sales team channel whenever any new
lead/account/opportunity gets created (in, say, Salesforce).
2. When a quarterly deliverable (posted as a MS Teams message in the channel) need to be
tracked, automation can add replies to the same thread, in case of important status
change/update
3. When a document gets signed by customer or employee, share the same as a channel
message of the Sales/HR team
4. Sending notifications to the account/support owner or group, in case of an event such as
Ticket resolution in Zendesk, or closure of an opportunity (in Salesforce) etc.
5. When a new support case is created, create a temp channel by adding the case assignee
and requestor and notify the ticket number in the MS Teams channel
6. The new hire in a Sales/Marketing department can be added to the respective
Sales/Marketing channels
