Do not share passwords with anyone
Make sure passwords are strong with a capital letter, eight or more characters, and at least one
number
NEVER give your private information to anyone over the internet
Do not post information that could make you a target for crime, for example don’t post when
you’re away on vacation because thieves will know your house is empty
Check privacy settings on social media to limit the people who can contact you
3. Safety
DO NOT befriend anyone on the internet that you don’t know in person
Be wary of fake profiles- some people steal photos and create fake accounts
Watch out for phishing sites that try and get your bank account information
If meeting someone off the internet to make a purchase, meet at a local police station
Report cyberbullying and inappropriate content
