1. My personal purpose for going to
college is to further my education so
that I can get a career in the heath care
field. I care about the availability of
quality heath care for everyone whether
it be in poorer areas of the United
States, or in third world nations that do
not have access to the types of resources
that we do in this country. I will impact
this issue by potentially pursuing public
health so that I can be part of the policy
making that impacts the level of heath
care resources available throughout the
world.

is to test my skills and push myself to
see just how much I can do. My public
purpose for going to college is to receive
a higher education and to be able to
support myself in the future. I care
about the racial segregation that goes on
within metropolitan Detroit and I will
impact that segregation by starting
small and changing my peers' and
community's attitude towards racial
injustice.

education in order to gain insight,

order to pursue my desired career

general. This would also lead to me
eventually being able to get a job, and it
is at this point in my life that I hope to

also be able to begin making positive
change in my community, and other
communities as well.

17. I'd like to stress a certain "3 E's":
education, economy, and empathy. In
order to establish a progressive society,
these "3 E's" must be implemented by
our generation. A strong higher
education can and will maximize our
potential as well as our consequent
impact on society. Personally, I'm
working towards an education in
medicine, since it is one of the few fields
today that promotes growth in all of the
"3 E's".

the path of furthering my education, not only
for myself, but for my family, making them

as a Black Female individual I too can make
it and I am smart and intelligent. Also, I will
impact society by fighting for what is right.
Teaching about my cultural background and
good things about my race.
Onward, it is not just my skin color that
makes me who I am… it is me as a person.
Race does not patter to me and stereotypes
shouldn’t and isn’t a thing in my eyes.
Being able to be sensitive to what others go
through with racial profiling, gender issues,
lacking coalition (getting together as one),
classes in society, and so much more is what

23. 1)Considerations I have about my family, neighborhood,
community or society is first most accepting who I am as
a person and also acceptance of my dream. I want them
to believe in me and listen to my voice. I'm concerned
about facing them with disappointment.
2)I hope I can achieve my goals of uniting my
community and the surrounding communities. I want
different people from all races and ethics to come in one
table and enjoy others difference. I also want to change
the negative views that my people have and make them
more open to others because we're all humans in the end.
3)Ways going to college can help me bring back to my
community and my family is that it will teach me to have
a round eye to the others in the world. The higher the
education the better because I can teach my people what
I learn.

2) My public and civic purpose for going to college is to set a good example of how an Arab who is Druze and not
Muslim is and break the racial and religious disrespect and intolerance there is in my community and hopefully
educate people and have them follow in my footsteps
3) I care about people treating others how they would like to be treated and respecting their racial and religious
identities and realizing that the color of skin, shape of eyes, or beliefs of others does not make them any less of a
person than everyone else, just different.
4) I will impact racial and religious injustice by educating as many people as I can and getting educated myself on
social justice issues as well as in a way to become a highly respected doctor and do great important things and be
someone people like to listen to so I can set an example of how to treat others and have people hopefully follow my
lead.
