Bharat Bhavan is a cultural center located on a plateau near a lake. It contains various spaces like a museum, green room, amphitheater, indoor theater, restaurant, auditorium, store, workshop, and offices. The building is designed with simple yet interesting shapes and an auditorium with a skylight. It has free-flowing circulation to avoid crowding and open courtyards connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. Landscaping features grass-covered roofs and incorporates the adjacent lake into its design.

combination of simple and interesting shapes.
The auditorium has unique design made up of R.C.C.
shell which has a skylight on the top of it providing
natural lighting.

Open to sky courtyards were provided

Roofs of all the buildings were
covered through grass making the
view beautiful as well as keeping the
building cooler.
Open to sky courtyards were made to
manage crowd Lake adjacent to the
Bharat bhavan was also incorporated

Retaining walls were made to avoid
the landslide.
Coffered slabs were made to avoid

Outer façade stone walls were 380

Visitor enter at the highest level and
walk down to a Pedestrian spine
flanked by a pattern of courtyards.

the built form itself that gently
terminates at the lakefront
forming into an amphitheatre
with the cityscape itself for a
backdrop reflecting in the
shimmering water of the lake.

organization of spaces, is what

courtyards to develop an
informality and openness
which gives this space its
character, as a platform for
sharing and building up

The kund like elements with pavilion for music classes and
performance is enchanting and mesmerizing.
