HOW WE CAN PRESERVE NATURE USING E-POLLUTANTS FROM E-WASTE?

SUMMARY NARRATIVE:
The demand for newer, more efficient, and effective technology has increased usage.
When these gadgets become obsolete, they are reused,
recycled, landfilled, or stored. Importation of waste electrical and electronic equipment
(WEEE) or e-waste from countries such as China and South Korea, etc. E-waste is
described as old, end-of-life, or obsolete electrical appliances. These can include a
variety of goods such as large and small household appliances, and commercial,
industrial, and government entities, all of the equipment contain heavy metals such as
lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), lithium, and many more. which are hazardous to human
health and the environment. In the Philippines, the Department of Environment and
Natural Resources (DENR) Administrative Order No. 2013-22 classified e-waste as a
new class of miscellaneous waste with waste numbers M506 and M507; however, a
formal and comprehensive e-waste management system is still lacking in the country.
There are pending legislations aimed at managing e-waste in the country. Some bills
are yet to be approved; Therefore, environmentally sound management (ESM) is
required when handling e-waste to ensure that its hazardous components are properly
disposed of to avoid adverse impacts on human health and the environment.
WHAT LESSON HAVE YOU LEARNED?
I have grasped that; we need to minimize e-waste and be knowledgeable
about the proper disposing of obsolete electrical appliances or also known as
miscellaneous waste. It’s not sly here in the Philippines not all Filipinos are educated
about disposing the miscellaneous waste or even though not all are governed and will

2. abide by the instructional guidelines. Therefore, we need to render and seamlessly
support the legislative order to protect our country and nature, it is innate to us Filipinos
to be smart and innovative it’s not doubtable for us to objectively impede this
happening in the future.
WHAT SUGGESTION YOU CAN OFFER?
I can suggest that;
1. E-waste Policies must be implemented by Licit Legislation, the entire country
must be governed and follow the law strictly.
2. The Legislation must apply inclusion.
3. The Government must conduct seminars and educate people on the proper
disposal of e-waste.
4. The companies or producers of technological advances must conduct brief
seminars for all consumers before buying the products.
5. Educate the people and consumers about recycling.
6. The Legislation must be concise and perceivable.
7. The Legislation must have disciplinary action for those who don’t abide by the
law
