Here are just a few of the restaurants and retailers that have located downtown in the past year or will be opening soon.
New Retailers!
Trattoria Il Mulino opened in March inside the Hilton. Described as “casual chic” this Italian restaurant is a more casual version of the original Il Mulino in New York City.
Southernaire market recently opened inside the Pinnacle. This is another project by Tom Morales and features gourmet meats, produce, coffee and many other “to go” items.
Bajo Sexto opened last month inside the Country Music Hall of Fame. This casual Mexican restaurant is a partnership between Johnathan Waxman and local music industry veteran Ken Levitan.
Bakersfield opened earlier this year inside the Encore. This Ohio-based Mexican restaurant occupies approximately 4,000 sf
Biscuit Love Brunch opened at 316 11th Ave. South in the Gulch. This was a well-known Nashville food truck before this brick and mortar location was created.
George Jones Museum opened last month. The museum includes a restaurant opearted by Martin’s BBQ, event space, gift shop and a 75 ft. rooftop bar overlooking the Cumberland River.
Bongo Java just announced that they will be opening later this month in a new retail space attached to the Johnny Cash Museum. Last fall, the owner of the museum announced a 15,000 sf expansion after buying the building at 119 3rd Avenue South. Along with the Bongo Java announcement, the owner plans to expand the gift shop and add a café serving gourmet sandwiches, salads and soups. There is also a plan to add a third floor to the building that will be used as a special event venue.
Jeni’s Ice Cream has announced that they will be opening in the Nashville Farmers’ Market in March.
Coming Soon!
Jeff Ruby announced last month that he will be opening a Jeff Ruby Steakhouse on the first floor of the UBS Tower at 315 Deaderick Street. The 10,000 sf restaurant plans for a winter opening. Ruby has steakhouses in Cincinnati, OH and Louisville, KY.
Otaku Ramen announced that they will open in the Gulch this fall. The restaurant will open in the Icon in the former Rumour’s Wine Bar space. The restaurant is said to feature ramen dishes along with traditional Japanese items with hints of Southern influence.
Potbelly Sandwich Shop plans to open its first Nashville location inside Gulch Crossing later this year. Potbelly offers toasted sandwiches, salads and milkshakes and is based in Chicago.
