Goji Berries are very effective in a wide range of treatments. They are
often used to treat fever, diabetes, cough and phlegm. Drinking tea made from

other ailments.

Goji Berries, also known as Wolfberries, are the most
nutritionally-rich fruit and antioxidant natural source of food known on
Earth. Goji Berries have been recognized by Chinese medicine for
longevity, strength-building, and a vitality-enhancing food.
At the beginning of the last century Goji Berry was hailed
as a super fruit and has since been sold as a health food and as a dietary
supplement. It contains vitamins A, B2 (riboflavin of the B-complex
group), E, 21 trace minerals including iron, potassium, zinc,
phosphorous, calcium and selenium as well as bioflavonoids and
carotenoids such as zeaxanthin, and contain 500 times the vitamin C of
oranges by weight. The essential amino acids, fatty acids and

polysaccharides it contains help to maintain normal blood pressure
levels. Both beta-carotene and zeaxanthin help to protect the retina in
the eye by absorbing blue light, and this may decrease the risk of
developing macular degeneration. Goji Berries are also the richest
source of beta-carotene of all known foods or plants on earth. They are
loaded with 18 kinds of amino acids and contain all 8 essential amino
acids.
The bioflavonoid Betaine calms nervousness and also
enhances muscular growth and helps the liver function. Physalin is
active against all types of leukemia and this is also found in Goji or
wolfberries. Used in the treatment of Hepatitis B, Solavetivane is a
powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compound while Beta-Sitosterol
is an anti-inflammatory used to treat impotence and prostate
enlargement, and it is this combined with the potent antioxidant
activities of the berry that has given it the reputation for enhancing the
libido and being an aphrodisiac. Cyperone, a sesquiterpene, is good for
the heart, normalizes blood pressure and may help in the treatment of
cervical cancer.
You usually buy it in the dried form and it is good in a
tisane combined with the root bark. It is usually cooked before eating

General Side Effects

When consumed in large quantities, Goji Berry may produce
undesirable side effects such as nausea and dizziness. Although Goji Berry
allergies are uncommon, individuals with pollen allergies should avoid Goji
Berries. Expectant mothers should also avoid Goji Berry, as the berries
contain a high selenium content which may lead to birth defects.
Atropine
Atropine is an alkaloid that occurs naturally in Goji Berries.
Although the atropine content in Goji Berries is generally below the toxic
amount, consumers should only eat Goji Berries in moderation. Consuming a
high concentration of atropine can result in dizziness, nausea, blurred vision,
dry mouth and potential hallucinations.
Insomnia
Goji Berry, even if taken in moderation, may cause acute
insomnia in some consumers. Goji Berry may cause insomnia by increasing
alertness. However, this side effect is not serious and can be combatted by
only eating Goji Berries in the morning.
Anti-Coagulation
Goji Berry, like many other natural products, may affect blood
clotting. Studies have shown that Goji Berries can interact with warfarin, an
anticoagulant drug. Two studies showed that elderly women who ate large
quantities of Goji Berries were at a higher risk for increased bleeding.

Goji Berries may interact with other prescription medications in
addition to warfarin. Goji Berries have been shown to interact with high
blood pressure and diabetic medication, causing an abnormal drop in blood
pressure or a decrease in blood sugar levels, which means it is enhancing the
medication’s effects. Drops in blood sugar levels can lead to dizziness and
fainting.
Goji Berry dosage
Allergies and psoriasis 20 - 30 oz. daily Goji berries in the study in
the Journal of Beijing Medical University (1992), it was observed that Goji reduces
the amount of antibodies associated with allergic type reactions, which was
presumably through mechanisms promoting CD8 (+) T-cells and regulating
cytokines. As a result, the Goji Berries are useful for the treatment of psoriasis.
Goji Berries Anti-Aging - Usual dose: 20 - 30 oz. daily LBP
polysaccharide complex of unique Goji significantly enhances the secretion of the
body (increased pituitary human growth hormone, which causes a general
rejuvenation of the body). Goji berries are traditionally viewed as a means to
longevity and sexual potency of the highest order. Several research groups have
taken the elderly berries once a day for three weeks, and nearly 70 percent of
patients have made impressive strides in strengthening the immune system. In
addition, nearly all patients had improved appetite and sleep quality. More than 35
percent of patients had recovery of sexual function. Zhang (1993) studied the role
of the unique polysaccharides in Goji LBP in anti-peroxidation, a major cause of
premature cell death. Dr. Zhang and his team measured the changes in the
electrical parameters of cell membranes after administration of live cells in a
solution containing dangerous free radicals. Oni noted that the lethal effects of free
radicals in cells can be prevented and reversed by taking polysaccharide LBP.

Arthritis-The usual dose of 30 grams. daily Research conducted in
China showed that taking Goji leads to a significant (40%) increase in the
production of the enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD), this extremely important
anti-inflammatory enzyme.
Sporting achievements / Energy-The usual dose levels up to 60
oz. daily Studies show that eating Goji LBP polysaccharides leads to a significant
increase in exercise tolerance, increases stamina and helps eliminate fatigue. Goji
LBP enhances glycogen (glycogen is the primary fuel of the body). Goji LBP also
helps in recovery from exercise, reduces muscle pain, and removes lactic acid.
Diseases of the blood - The usual dose levels: 20 grams. daily LBP,
contained in Goji berries, contributes to the growth of stem cells and increase the
number of monocytes in the bone marrow. Goji Berry is also used in several recent
clinical trials for the treatment of bone marrow with a deficit of production of red
blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Three years conducted clinical studies
on the effect of Goji berries on the immune, physiological and biochemical
parameters of blood of older volunteers. The results showed that the berries Goji

Cancer Prevention - The usual dose levels: 20 grams. daily
Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is one of the most important cytokine (cell protein). It inhibits
the growth of tumors in various models of cancer. Polysaccharides of some plants
to increase production of interleukin-2 (IL-2). Goji LBP are particularly active in

Studies conducted in the Second Military Medical University in Shanghai, 79 patients with
advanced cancer received LAK/IL-2 in combination with Goji LBPs. The results showed
remarkable regression of cancer in patients with malignant melanoma, kidney cancer, colon
cancer, lung cancer and cancer of the nasopharynx. Noted that the remission of cancer in patients
treated with Goji lasted LAK/IL-2 much longer than in patients not treated with Goji. The results
showed that Goji berries’ polysaccharides can be used as adjuvant therapy for cancer. Another
study from China showed that taking Goji increased sensitivity to radiation therapy and increases
the immunity of cancer patients.
Cardiovascular disease - The usual dose levels: 30 grams. daily
The accumulation of lipid peroxides in the blood can lead to cardiovascular
disease, myocardial infarction, atherosclerosis and stroke. Receiving Goji provides
40% increase of enzyme production of superoxide dismutase (SOD), which
prevents the accumulation of lipid peroxides in the blood.
Diabetes (adult, not insulin-dependent) - The usual dose
levels: 20g. twice a day Goji is used in China for the treatment of diabetes for
many years. When you receive Goji restores balance of sugar and insulin levels.
Gastrointestinal disorders - The usual dose levels: 10gr. just
before eating Mongolian Institute of Traditional Medicine reported that Goji has
been used in the treatment of atrophic gastritis, which is defined as a weakening of
digestion due to the weakening of activity of the stomach.
Hypertension (high blood pressure) - The usual dose levels:
20 grams daily. Effect of polysaccharides (LBP) on endothelial function Goji
observed in Jia YX et al (1998) in China. The results showed the effectiveness of
Goji berries for normalization krovyannogo pressure.
Infertility - The usual dose of 50g. daily for four months Goji berries
have long been used by doctors Asia to treat infertility. Recent studies show the
high efficiency of polysaccharides and trace elements contained in Goji berries for
the treatment of male infertility.

Protection of the liver -The usual dose of 10-20g. daily A new
cerebroside was isolated from the Goji berries. In further studies, Kim SY (1999)
suggested that cerebroside Goji berry can keep hepatic mitochondrial glutathione
levels and thereby reduce lipid oxidation and cell damage.
Obesity - The usual dose: 20g. morning, 20g. in the evening Goji berry
has also been tested as a treatment against obesity. Patients drank tea made from
dried berries every morning and every evening. The results were excellent - the
majority of patients significantly lost weight. In animal studies, it was shown that
Goji polysaccharides enhance the conversion of food into energy, and help to
reduce body weight.
Sexual dysfunction - The usual dose of 20-30g. daily Goji berries
have long been used to treat impotence. Substances contained in the Goji berries
markedly increases the level of male hormones in the blood. In fact, an old Chinese
proverb cautions men who are traveling away from their wives: "He who travels
one thousand kilometers from home should not eat Goji!"

Antioxidants offer powerful, effective protection for your body and cells against
their oxidative stress, by blunting the damaging effects of free radicals.
But, how can you tell which foods or other natural substances offer you the best
protection from the damaging effects of free radicals?
The ORAC Scale on antioxidant capacity
USDA researchers at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts , have developed a
laboratory test to measure the oxygen radical absorbance capacity of different
foods and natural substances. Known as the ORAC scale, it is one of the most
sensitive and reliable methods for measuring antioxidant capacity.
The first test of its kind, the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) scale
measures both the time and degree of free-radical inhibition.
All antioxidant capacity measures are estimated by Ferric Reducing Power, and are
expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent (TE) per 100 grams (µTE/100 g). The
ORAC test is accurate to +/- 5%.

Goji berry in addition contains 21 minerals (iron, zinc, iodine, selenium and
germanium), 18 amino acids (this is more than in the mother bee pollen), eight of
which the human body does not produce. In Goji contains vitamins B1, B2, B6 and

E. Vitamin C in Goji 500 times more than oranges, and iron - 15 times more than
spinach. Scientists discovered in Goji four essential polysaccharids (LBP-1, LBP-
2, LBP-3, LBP-4), which are no longer present in any food.

Goji berries recipes are used extensively in China, Mongolia, Japan. The berries
are used when cooking soups, rice porridge, meat dishes, baked goods - in other

drinking a little cool water.

minerals needed to feel young and healthy. Goji berries come from China, they
have long been used to stimulate growth hormone production, improve sleep,
vision, life and even to increase the libido! Eat Goji Berries - Goji Go!
Here's a recipe for energy candies, which will help you get a daily dose of Goji
necessary - this super-fruit.
Ingredients:
1 / 4 cup coconut flakes
1 / 3 cup almonds
1 / 4 cup berries, Goji
4 pitted dates
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Method:
Using a food processor, chop almonds, coconut, berries and Goji. Add pitted dates
and cinnamon. Continue this process until all is well mixed. Remove mixture from
processor and shape into bars or hearts. Place in freezer or refrigerate for an hour.
We can prepare a tasty, very useful for our body-tea drink. 1 tablespoon fruit brew
with green tea leaves, cover, infuse for 30 minutes. Remaining after the infusion or
pumped up berries can also be eaten.
Goji berries can be in place of raisins, apples or kiwi in loaves of bread or muffins.
Nutrients found in goji berries even more than in the raisins.
In equal amounts take Goji berries, blueberries, cherries, peaches, apples,
raspberries, blackberries. Mix them a few seconds in a blender. Then add a glass
of water or orange juice diluted with water 50/50.. To make the drink spicy, you
can sprinkle cocoa powder or chopped pine nuts.

In wine
25 grams or 3-4 teaspoon dry Goji Berries add to 1 liter of wine. Close and seal
bottle. Use after 30 days

200 grams or 3-5 teaspoon dry Goji Berries add to 1 liter of wine and seal bottle.
You can use it after 10 days

Dry Goji Berries can be added to roast meat, soup and cakes.
Drug infusion
Ingredients: Goji berry fruit 50 g, 45 degree Chinese 0.5 liters of vodka.
Preparation: Pour vodka, berries, leave for a week.
Take 10ml twice a day, morning and evening.
Strengthens the immune system, stimulates the formation of blood cells, and
reduces blood sugar levels. It is useful to the weakening of vision and dizziness.
Chrysanthemum tea from the berries and Goji
Ingredients: black tea, Goji berries a few, s ~ 5 flowers of chrysanthemum.

Tea lowers blood sugar, blood pressure, slows the aging process, and prevents the

Ingredients: 15 grams of white wood mushrooms, berries, Goji, fruits lunyan
(dragon's eye) and sugar crystals.
Preparation: Soak white fungus in water, wood, peel, boil in hot water. Clear Goji
berries, chopped fruit dragon eye pieces. Wood fungus and fruit Goji cook on a

steam bath. Then put in boiling water, add sugar crystals and boiled for the minute.
Soup improves health and is very useful for the elderly.
Goji berry soup and pork liver
Ingredients: pork liver, Goji berries '50
Preparation: cook the liver and berries Goji until tender, add seasoning to taste.
Soup eliminates dryness of the eyes and dark circles under his eyes.
Goji berry Porridge
Ingredients: Goji berries are 5 grams of rice, sugar.
Preparation: boil berries Goji and Fig. Add sugar to taste.
Porridge helps with visual impairment and watering eyes.
Lamb Stew with Goji berries
Ingredients: Lamb rib-1 kg, dried berries Goji ~ 50 grams fresh ginger ~ 10-15

Preparation: Goji berries rinsed well, leek and ginger cut into large slices. Mutton

and berries, a little salt and simmer until cooked meat. At the end of cooking add
sea salt to taste. Meat removed, the broth, return the meat to the broth and serve,
adding a small handful, washed and soaked a bit, Goji berries.

Sweet soup made from mushrooms and berries Goji
Ingredients: Dried mushrooms (silver ears) - 25 grams, Goji berries - ± a gram,
brown crystal sugar - 75 grams, sugar - 25 grams, egg protein -1-2 pcs.
Preparation: Soak mushrooms in warm water in an hour, remove, remove the tough
yellow roots and rinse well. Rinse your Goji berries. Pour into a saucepan a liter of
water, add the mushrooms, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer on the verge of
boiling under the lid an hour or so. Add sugar, berries Goji and cook for another
ten minutes. Enter beaten egg white, remove excess foam and serve.
The recipe has been known since the VII century. Fed this soup for the imperial

Goji Berries have been recognized by Chinese medicine for longevity, strength-building, and a vitality-enhancing food. At the beginning of the last century Goji Berry was hailed as a super fruit and has since been sold as a health food and as a dietary supplement. It contains vitamins A, B2 (riboflavin of the B-complex group), E, 21 trace minerals including iron, potassium, zinc, phosphorous, calcium and selenium as well as bioflavonoids and carotenoids such as zeaxanthin, and contain 500 times the vitamin C of oranges by weight. The essential amino acids, fatty acids and

Both beta-carotene and zeaxanthin help to protect the retina in the eye by absorbing blue light, and this may decrease the risk of developing macular degeneration. Goji Berries are also the richest source of beta-carotene of all known foods or plants on earth. They are loaded with 18 kinds of amino acids and contain all 8 essential amino acids. The bioflavonoid Betaine calms nervousness and also enhances muscular growth and helps the liver function. Physalin is active against all types of leukemia and this is also found in Goji or wolfberries. Used in the treatment of Hepatitis B, Solavetivane is a powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compound while Beta-Sitosterol is an anti-inflammatory used to treat impotence and prostate enlargement, and it is this combined with the potent antioxidant activities of the berry that has given it the reputation for enhancing the libido and being an aphrodisiac. Goji Berries have been shown to interact with high blood pressure and diabetic medication, causing an abnormal drop in blood pressure or a decrease in blood sugar levels, which means it is enhancing the medication’s effects. Drops in blood sugar levels can lead to dizziness and fainting. Goji Berry dosage Allergies and psoriasis 20 - 30 oz. daily Goji berries in the study in the Journal of Beijing Medical University (1992), it was observed that Goji reduces the amount of antibodies associated with allergic type reactions, which was presumably through mechanisms promoting CD8 (+) T-cells and regulating cytokines. Zhang (1993) studied the role of the unique polysaccharides in Goji LBP in anti-peroxidation, a major cause of premature cell death. Dr. Zhang and his team measured the changes in the electrical parameters of cell membranes after administration of live cells in a solution containing dangerous free radicals. Oni noted that the lethal effects of free radicals in cells can be prevented and reversed by taking polysaccharide LBP.
