1 Introduction
1.1 Overview
SINAMICS S200 PN support the speed control mode and EPOS control mode. For the speed
control mode, it can be commissioned by Startdrive or Web Server, but for the EPOS control
mode, it can be commissioned by startdrve only.
The Web Server is integrated into the SINAMICS S200 PN drive firmware, only need the
internet browser and LAN cable, no additional engineering tool need to be installed in the PC.

2 Basics
2.1 Basics regarding SINAMICS S200 PN
SINAMICS S200 PN supports the following telegrams in speed mode.
• Standard telegram 1
• Standard telegram 2
• Standard telegram 3
• Standard telegram 5
• Siemens telegram 102
• Siemens telegram 105
The standard telegram 1 can be used only for RT mode.
The standard telegram 2, the standard telegram 3 and the Siemens telegram 102 can be used
either for RT mode or IRT mode depending on the IO controller.
The standard telegram 5 and Siemens telegram 105 can only support the IRT mode.
2.2 Hardware installation
CAUTION
Wrong wiring can damage the drive or controller!
In this application, the single phase AC230V power supply is used for servo drive system and
the DC24V power supply is used for SIMATIC system. It is important to check the power
supply voltage, otherwise drive or controller can be damaged.
The figure below shows the hardware configuration in this application.

3 Commissioning
3.1 Menu structure of the Web Server
The following figure shows the Web Server menu structure of the SINAMICS S200 PN. It
consists of 7 menus, such as the Home, Commissioning, Monitoring and operation, Diagnostics,
Parameter, Backup and restore, Systems.

There are two terminals can be used to connect the Web Server, X127 and X150. The access
from X127 is activated with the default setting, and the access from X150 should be activated
manually, otherwise it’s not possible to connect the Web Server via X150 by the default setting.
The default IP address of X127 is 169.254.11.22.
The address https://169.254.11.22 should be input into the browser.

3.2 Access to the Web Server

After the setting, press the “ Continue” button.
Note: With the default setting of the drive, there is some information need to be pre-set first.

3.3 Quick setup
The following table shows how to configure the quick setup. It follows the procedure of table 3-1.

In this screen, there are two options can be selected, “Continue with quick setup” to start the quick setup
function, or “Continue with web server home page” to reach the home page, the quick setup can be
commissioned later from the commissioning menu. Click button “Continue” to start the quick setup.

information, encoder information and holding brake information can be displayed here.
Click the “Motor” to continue.

1. The motor rotating direction can be selected.
2. The motor holding brake can be forced to open and close to check the status. Make sure it’s safe status to
open the brake.
3. Check the motor data is correct and then click “Encoder” to continue.

Check the displayed information of the encoder, and then press “Limits” to continue.

According to the drive and motor, the default setting of the limit speed and torque, even the ramp-down time
for OFF3 is pre-set to the maximum value. According to the actual application, these limits can be changed to
a smaller and suitable value. Click the “I/O configuration” to continue.

3.4 Control panel
The following table shows how to operate the control panel and monitor the status. It follows the
procedure of table 3-2.

1. Click the textbox of the speed setpoint.
2. From the pop-up window, the speed setpoint can be modified via input the value directly in the textbox, use
the + or – button to increase or decrease the value, or drag the value bar to set the speed.
3. Click “OK” to confirm the setpoint.
In jog mode, the button of “Backward” and “Forward” can be used to start the motor rotate counterclockwise or
clockwise. If the button is pressed, then the motor will rotate, if the button is released, then the motor will stop.

Click the “Continuous motion”.
6.
Click the clockwise button to rotate the motor, then the actual status of the drive can be displayed in the control
panel and also in the drive status bar.

3.5 One button tuning
The following table shows the procedure for one button tuning.

For the speed control mode, it can be commissioned by Startdrive or Web Server, but for the EPOS control mode, it can be commissioned by startdrve only. The Web Server is integrated into the SINAMICS S200 PN drive firmware, only need the internet browser and LAN cable, no additional engineering tool need to be installed in the PC. 1.2 Solution Overview of the automation task The figure below provides an overview of the automation task.   • 6. 2 Basics SINAMICS S200 PN commissioning via webserver Entry-ID: 109821000, V1.0, 08/2023 6 © Siemens AG 2023 All rights reserved 2 Basics 2.1 Basics regarding SINAMICS S200 PN SINAMICS S200 PN supports the following telegrams in speed mode. • Standard telegram 1 • Standard telegram 2 • Standard telegram 3 • Standard telegram 5 • Siemens telegram 102 • Siemens telegram 105 The standard telegram 1 can be used only for RT mode. The standard telegram 2, the standard telegram 3 and the Siemens telegram 102 can be used either for RT mode or IRT mode depending on the IO controller. The standard telegram 5 and Siemens telegram 105 can only support the IRT mode. 2.2 Hardware installation CAUTION Wrong wiring can damage the drive or controller! In this application, the single phase AC230V power supply is used for servo drive system and the DC24V power supply is used for SIMATIC system. It is important to check the power supply voltage, otherwise drive or controller can be damaged. The figure below shows the hardware configuration in this application. It consists of 7 menus, such as the Home, Commissioning, Monitoring and operation, Diagnostics, Parameter, Backup and restore, Systems. Figure 3-1 There are two terminals can be used to connect the Web Server, X127 and X150. The access from X127 is activated with the default setting, and the access from X150 should be activated manually, otherwise it’s not possible to connect the Web Server via X150 by the default setting. The default IP address of X127 is 169.254.11.22. The address https://169.254.11.22 should be input into the browser.

Input the address https://169.254.11.22 in the internet browser. 2. Click the “Advanced” button. 3. Click the “Proceed to 169.254.11.22 (unsafe)” to open the Web Server.

In this screen, the language of the Web Server can be selected, and the drive time also can be set here. After the setting, press the “ Continue” button. Note: With the default setting of the drive, there is some information need to be pre-set first. 5. The cybersecurity can be configured via button “Configure security settings” here or later. Details about the cybersecurity configuration, please refer to the following link: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/109820695 The configuration isn’t described here, and click the “Continue with low security settings” to continue. 6. Press the “Continue” button.

It follows the procedure of table 3-1. Table 3-2 No. Action 1. In this screen, there are two options can be selected, “Continue with quick setup” to start the quick setup function, or “Continue with web server home page” to reach the home page, the quick setup can be commissioned later from the commissioning menu. Click button “Continue” to start the quick setup. 2. Click “Start quick setup”.

The device name of the SINMAICS S200 PN drive can be changed here, and the drive information, motor information, encoder information and holding brake information can be displayed here. Click the “Motor” to continue. 4. 1. The motor rotating direction can be selected. 2. The motor holding brake can be forced to open and close to check the status. Make sure it’s safe status to open the brake. 3. Check the motor data is correct and then click “Encoder” to continue.

Check the displayed information of the encoder, and then press “Limits” to continue. 6. According to the drive and motor, the default setting of the limit speed and torque, even the ramp-down time for OFF3 is pre-set to the maximum value. According to the actual application, these limits can be changed to a smaller and suitable value. Click the “I/O configuration” to continue.

The function of the digital input and digital output can be specified here, press the “Finish commissioning” to finish the quick setup commissioning. 8. Press the “Finish commissioning” to confirm it.

It follows the procedure of table 3-2. Table 3-3 No. Action 1. After quick setup commissioning finished, select the open control panel function, and then click “Close” to open the control panel. 2. Click “Take over control” to get the access. 3. Click “Confirm” to confirm the access.

Click the textbox of the speed setpoint. 2. From the pop-up window, the speed setpoint can be modified via input the value directly in the textbox, use the + or – button to increase or decrease the value, or drag the value bar to set the speed. 3. Click “OK” to confirm the setpoint. In jog mode, the button of “Backward” and “Forward” can be used to start the motor rotate counterclockwise or clockwise. If the button is pressed, then the motor will rotate, if the button is released, then the motor will stop. 5. Click the “Continuous motion”. 6. Click the clockwise button to rotate the motor, then the actual status of the drive can be displayed in the control panel and also in the drive status bar.

Click the button to switch the displaying style. 8. Click the button to switch the displaying style to the graphic view. 9. 1. Click the stop button the stop the motor. 2. Click the “Return control” button to release the control access.

Table 3-4 No. Action 1. 1. From the menu list, click “Commissioning” menu, and select the “Optimization”. 2. Select the target dynamic and machine property. 3. Click “Take over control” to continue. 2. Set the rotation limit and click “OK” to continue in the pop-up window. 3. One button tuning is active and wait.

After tuning finished, the current value of the optimized data and previous value of the original data displayed. Click “Return control” to release the one button tuning function. Note: It’s better to click the “Start optimization” again, and make sure the current value of the load moment of inertia is nearly same as the previous value of the load moment of inertia.
