1. Develop innovation in core technologies
of receiver development for the mass
market
2. Invest on specific E-GNSS differentiators
E-GNSS receiver prototype for the
“premium consumer” market
Development of core technology
• The proposals have to go beyond the
current state-of-the-art
 develop innovative core technology.
• The developed chipset/receiver shall take
into account the typical constraints of
mass market applications, such as power
consumption, size, weight and cost.

• Multi-frequency (at least E1+E5a/b)

Budget allocation
• The grant aims at awarding 2 (two)
projects each of them:
– Up to an amount of 4.25M€
– Up to a co-funding rate of 60%
Eligible participants (1/3)
• Only proposals submitted by consortia
shall be admissible:
• Coordinator  legal person
• Co-applicants  legal person and/or
natural person(s)
Eligible participants (2/3)
• Legal persons must be established in:
• EU Member States
• Switzerland, Norway
• Natural persons have to be national of
one of the above countries.
Established = having a registered office OR central administration
OR principal place of business in one of those countries.
Eligible participants (3/3)
• Applicants must be active in the
development, integration and/or
manufacturing of GNSS components,
receivers, antennas and/or expert in the
field of GNSS Research and development
(R&D).
Joint Research Centre
• The tests for validation and acceptance shall
be performed in collaboration with the Joint
Research Centre (JRC) at the European
Microwave Signature Laboratory of the
European Commission in Ispra, Italy.
• No additional costs to use the JRC facilities
and the involvement of the JRC experts.

 Detailed architecture and Design Justification File of the prototype
 Test plan, cases and procedures

 Business plan and Dissemination Plan
 Report about the status of implementation of the business plan and
dissemination plan

  • 4. Objectives of the Call for Proposals 1. Develop innovation in core technologies of receiver development for the mass market 2. Invest on specific E-GNSS differentiators E-GNSS receiver prototype for the “premium consumer” market
  • 5. Development of core technology • The proposals have to go beyond the current state-of-the-art  develop innovative core technology. • The developed chipset/receiver shall take into account the typical constraints of mass market applications, such as power consumption, size, weight and cost.
  • 6. Innovation (Fundamental) Elements • Multipath mitigation in urban environment • Interference detection and mitigation • Signals of Opportunity • Power optimisation • Multi-frequency (at least E1+E5a/b) MANDATORY MUST BE IN ANY PROPOSAL
  • 7. Other Innovation Elements • Carrier phase tracking for smartphone • Augmentation sensors and data fusion • Smart antenna • OS Authentication • … OPTIONAL KEY TO AWARD
  • 8. Building Blocks The amount of the proposed elements (“building blocks” in the Call text) and their innovation level shall be a key element to assess the proposal against the AWARD criteria

  • 16. Budget allocation • The grant aims at awarding 2 (two) projects each of them: – Up to an amount of 4.25M€ – Up to a co-funding rate of 60%
  • 17. Eligible participants (1/3) • Only proposals submitted by consortia shall be admissible: • Coordinator  legal person • Co-applicants  legal person and/or natural person(s)
  • 18. Eligible participants (2/3) • Legal persons must be established in: • EU Member States • Switzerland, Norway • Natural persons have to be national of one of the above countries. Established = having a registered office OR central administration OR principal place of business in one of those countries.
  • 19. Eligible participants (3/3) • Applicants must be active in the development, integration and/or manufacturing of GNSS components, receivers, antennas and/or expert in the field of GNSS Research and development (R&D).
  • 20. Joint Research Centre • The tests for validation and acceptance shall be performed in collaboration with the Joint Research Centre (JRC) at the European Microwave Signature Laboratory of the European Commission in Ispra, Italy. • No additional costs to use the JRC facilities and the involvement of the JRC experts.
  • 21.
