  6. 6. PERSUASIVE SPEECH  To persuade or convince a group of people  Aim to influence and change the opinions of the audience  Commonly used by sales and marketing people  Also used to influence political and religious views
  7. 7. CEREMONIAL SPEECH  Is given on special occasions like wedding, funerals, graduation parties, retirement parties etc.  How to make these speeches effective? Add a personal touch to it  The speech can humorous, touching or emotional according to the mood.  However, one needs to be cautious in order to not make any snide remarks.

EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECHES  Also known as impromptu speeches  Will cause speaker to feel nervous and panicky  Speaker will have to quickly think about the points regarding the topic and speak before the audience with confidence.  A good public speaker is not a talkative person; but understands the type of speech that needs to be given.
