1. POTATO PANCAKES WITH GOULASH
(PLACEK PO WĘGIERSKU)
Ingredients:
Potato pancakes:
½ kilo of potatoes
1 medium onion
1 egg
1 tablespoon of flour
salt
pepper
Goulash:
½ kilo of beef
2 or 3 multicolored peppers
2 onions
150g of mushrooms
1 carrot
2 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons of tomato paste
allspice
bay leaf
salt
pepper
chilli
2 tablespoons of flour
2. Preparation:
Potato pancakes:
Peel potatoes and onion and grate. Add egg, flour and salt and pepper and mix well. Pan-fry small
pancakes on both sides.
Goulash:
Cut meat, peppers, onions, carrot and mushrooms into small pieces and pan-fry. Add garlic.
Transfer everything to a saucepan, add water or vegetable bouillon, tomato paste and
spices.
Cook in a covered dish until the meat softens, about 1,5 hours. At the very end of cooking,
add flour to thicken the water.
At the very end, you can sprinkle the dish with grated cheese and add some sour cream.
