Not all foundations are alike
Private foundations
- Independent: Include most of the nationโs
largest or donor families.
- Operating: Primarily run their own programs,
but some also make grants. Generally established
by individuals or families.
-Corporate: Established by large or small
businesses, although legally separate entities.
Community foundations raise funds from the public and
engage in grantmaking primarily within a defined
geographic area.
13. @CandidDotOrg | candid.org
U.S. foundations give through intermediaries
Just 12% of all international giving by U.S. foundations goes directly to local
organizations based in the country intended to benefit from the funding.
General support grants awarded directly to local organizations represent just
1% of total international giving by U.S. foundations.

close in the next 3 months without additional
funding

This one day will passโฆ
When this is over,
May we never again take for granted
A handshake with a stranger
Full shelves at the store
Conversations with neighbors
A crowded theatre
Friday night out
The taste of communion
A routine check-up
The school rush each morning
Coffee with friend
The stadium roaring
Each deep breath
A boring Tuesday
Life itself.
When this ends,
may we find
that we have become
more like the people
we wanted to be
we were called to be
we hoped to be
and may we stay
that way โ better
for each other
Because of the worst - Laura Kelly Fanucci
