Overall Info
It is a small town in the South of
Poland however it is in close
proximity to Katowice or Cracow.
There are around 17,000 citizens yet
it is not crowded here. Lędziny is full
of greenery and forests. Of course,
there are some local shops and
markets as well. It is not a touristic
place, but it is quite well-known for its
production of coal.

Workplaces
It is a challenge to find a well-
paid job here. Obviously, there
are hairdresser’s salons or
garages but if someone
dreams about being an
engineer or a scientist, it might
be problematic for such
person to find a proper place
to work.

Workplaces are mostly
taken by senior citizens
of Lędziny, while young
citizens are forced to look
for jobs in bigger cities.

Less and
less
In the upcoming years, there will be less
and less youngsters in Lędziny due to the
fact that the town does not provide them
with any perspectives for a bright future.

Entertainment
Lędziny is not a perfect place for
young people due to the fact that
it lacks interesting vacancies and
entertaining places. These are
the aspects that surely
discourage young people from
staying in their hometown.

You have to be extremely
creative if you want to
spend your free time in
Lędziny. The reason for it
might be the fact that
there are no
entertainment facilities
like cinemas, museums or
shopping centers.

Not having places to spend
their time at, they might fall in
a trap of various addictions
which can result in problems
with law. Unfortunately, it does
not seem like this issue will be
solved any soon.

There are several
supermarkets and
discount stores in
the city.

The national road No. 1 runs
through the northern part of
the city, enabling connections
in the following directions:
Bielsko-Biała - Cieszyn and
Kraków - Warsaw - Gdańsk.
There are also road
connections with other cities
of the Upper Silesian

Katowice, Tychy and
Mysłowice.

The City Council is the
legislative and controlling
body in the city. Currently, it
has fifteen councilors elected
in direct elections. The City
Council operates in sessions,
through its committees and
through the mayor who
implements its resolutions.

there?

It takes around 25 minutes to
get to Lędziny from Dąbrowa
Górnicza by car. The
fastest and the easiest way is
S1 road.
To get there by public transport
you have to go to Dąbrowa
Górnicza Centrum bus stop.
Take M2 line to Katowice
Skargi. Then go to Katowice
Dworzec and take M22 line. In
around 40 minutes you will
arrive in Lędziny.
