Caught the Start-up bug while getting my MBA at Seattle U where I competed in and won two business plan competitions.
Since then I’ve helped grow mobile tech startup Point Inside grow from 2 to 75+ people, started and closed down my own startup CoupleFire, led marketing communications at ad-tech company Mixpo, and am now privileged to serve as Head of Marketing at Apptentive where I wear many hats including leading marketing strategy, demand generation, digital advertising, communications, brand messaging, product marketing and a really talented team.
I serve on the Board of Directors of Seattle University’s Entrepreneurship Center. For fun I love to mentor budding entrepreneurs, travel and play soccer. I also enjoy writing about women, entrepreneurship and lifehacks at www.emilycarrion.com.
I believe we’re always in the skills acquisition part of our careers.

I find comradery when the same things bother us or amaze us
These nuggets help a lot when you meet in person
Remember those Twitter Lists I created?
Dona was definitely on my Ballers list – I had a major Twitter Crush on her – and really wanted to meet her
As someone who’s been on been a mentee and a mentor, here is what I’ve learned
I leave you with two challenges
Create your Ballers List
Meet with 1 new person every week
